“One of Hilton's BEST”
Reviewed 13 January 2014

We are HGVC & Hhonors owners/members...and this was one of the BEST hotels we have stayed at EVER. The staff, especially Miriam on the 26th floor was outstanding and could not have been nicer. She went out of her way to assist us with every request we had. The entire staff in the Executive Lounge were also outstanding and very helpful. Our room was perfect, no complaints there. The hotel is located across from a park/plaza with fountains and was always filled with people just strolling around, in addition to a great open air market to stroll through. We walked to some of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at...El Cardenal (right in the hotel) has the best breakfast we have ever had. We also ate at La Tacuba and La Opera both outstanding.

Our only complaint and it was small....was on Christmas Eve, we wanted to sit and have a cocktail before going to bed. The restaurant on the 1st floor was empty when we got there but the staff was not very accommodating. They actually ignored us....I think they had just finished with a huge party and was trying to recover from that. Once they finally seated us they were very nice and helpful.

We definitely would stay at this hotel again and return to Mexico City. Even tho the city is huge, we felt safe the entire time we were in Mexico City. We rode buses, the metro, taxis, went to all the surrounding markets, even ones that people warned us to be very careful at. Take all the precautions you normally take when traveling to any foreign country or even cities like LA and NYC and you will have a wonderful time!!!

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view. We were on the 26th floor and it was wonderful. See att...

Hi ! thanks a lot for taking part of your time in writing us. It's an honor read that your recent stay with us was pleasant . We always do our best effort to make our guests feel at home. I´ve shared your comments with the Manager of the Executive Lounge :) For your next visit, besides your ammenities in the 26th floor, I invite you to visit our Lobby Bar where we have a wide selection of national and international drinks, an ample selection of wines by the glass, as well as local and imported brews. You will feel right at home in the warm and inviting modern English design of our Lobby Bar.

Once again thanks for your comments we hope to see you soon here at your home.

Have a nice day! :)

Ok, so after the cold water issue with my first visit, I was ready to see what this one entailed. I was pleased with the room, the service and the overall experience. No issues with cold water or anything else. The location is great for walking in the park and to see the various shops and street performers in the evening after returning from the office. The hotel itself also has a nice executive lounge for drinks before dinner or even dinner itself ( they have great food). The best part about the lounge though has to be the staff. They greet my group like long lost friends and always remember our preferences for beverages. I couldn't be happier with my visit. I will be returning there this weekend for another week and then back again the first two weeks in February.

Hello!! How´s your day? Hope fine, I want to thank you for taking the time to leave your nice comments. I´m glad to know that your stay with us was very pleasant and with great moments. Now please let me recommend our Restaurant La Terraza, a beautiful outdoor restaurant located on the 6th floor in a beautiful garden. It´s like an oasis within the heart of this city. And if you stay here on weekend you can enjoy a delicious Sunday Brunch were you´ll be more than satisfied.

For your next visit we will be waiting with pleasure!

Hello,

I stayed here with my wife and baby on holiday for 4 nights. We paid US$140 a night over thanksgiving. We had never stayed at a Hilton before (normally we go for mid-range hotels).

Positives:

o The staff were really very helpful, always with a smile on their faces and quick to fix things if there was a problem. This was the best thing about the hotel and made the stay very pleasant. An example would be that the waiter in the morning remembered that my wife liked a particular type of Tamal and saved it for her, the staff often said "hola" in the corridors etc etc.
o The location is good, you are very near to a few museums and about 20 minutes walk from the Zocalo. The neighbourhood seemed relatively safe, a lot of people around even in the late evening. About 5-10 minutes walk from the metro (e.g. to get close to the Frida Kahlo museum). Note that no prams are allowed on the metro so best take a kangaroo.
o The breakfast was really excellent and included in the offer (as stated above, about US$140 for a room with two double beds; the standard rate is higher of course). Internet was included in the price and worked very well. Room nice and quiet. The WC was separate from the bathroom that can be convenient :).

Negatives:

o Nothing really! On the day we left there were demonstrations and we just missed being caught up in one of them, so ask about that if you are flying out as you may have to leave a bit earlier. There is no big supermarket nearby so getting baby food was a bit difficult.

Best regards,

Jonathan

Hi !! thanks for your review. We are glad to know that you had a pleasant trip with us. We tried to make you feel at home. It´s great to know that you visited part of our museums and our historical center called "Zócalo" and its streets. This was built on what was once the epicenter of Tenochtitlan (capital of the Aztec culture). We have a very enriched culture. In your next visit we invite you to visit our Terraza (6th floor), is a representation of the Alameda Central Park.

We will be waiting for you here at your home! Best Regards

Three restaurants, but two of them close too early. Very fine food. Decent prices.
Where did they find such beautiful and gracious young women to serve as maître des? The room was very clean, large, but two beds and only one chair? The bathroom could have used a fan so that the mirror wouldn't steam up, and the toilet
made a moaning sound when flushed that would wake the dead. And the stopper in the bathtub didn't work, so showers were mandatory. The four elevators in the building are marvelous. They are very fast but don't even seem to be moving when you are riding them. There is an excellent small indoor pool for frolicking with the children, and a lap pool outside on the roof for serious swimmers. The area around the hotel is safe. We never felt endangered. There were tremendous crowds on the streets and sidewalks every afternoon until the wee hours of the morning. Families were everywhere. The auto traffic was jammed, thousands of cars creeping along. I wouldn't want to drive in Mexico City. The museums and antiquities are fantastic. Walking the streets of the city gave me an increased sense of hopefulness for Mexico. When we were there the days after Christmas there was no air pollution and the weather was great. Cool, but not cold.

The hotel was very beautiful with a lot to do. I only spent one evening here, but my stay was pleasant. I stayed in room 1728, which overlooked the western side of Mexico City. The price was very good. The room was clean and comfortable.

My only complaint is that there was no hot water in the morning for my shower. I was up around 3:30AM, so I know that there were not a lot of people taking showers at that time of the day.

The hotel is located in an area which provides a short walk to many different places to visit in Mexico City. The staff was very courteous and helpful. There are a lot of accommodations, which I did not take advantage of.

Overall, this was a pleasant place to stay for a great price.

One of the cleanest hotels ive been in Mexico. But honestly, not sure if its worth four stars. Room was just average...nothing special. We had AMAZING views from the room. 23rd floor, corner room. But inside was just average things I could get in a comfort inn in the states. Nothing that screamed luxury or even something approaching it. Everyone I dealt with was courteous. The maid service was great.

Complaints: First morning, at about 8 when I was trying to sleep still, I was awoken by the window washers and their cords banging on my windows. seriously why would you wash the windows in the morning instead of in the middle of the day when people are not sleeping? My biggest gripe was the WiFi. it was super slow, and I could not hold a steady Skype nor kakao, nor VOIp call. Something im always able to do in other wifi. For this caliber hotel, I wish the wifi reception was better.

Room Tip: don't choose 2302 if you want steady wifi!
