“A great hotel experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2012

Mexico City is a beautiful city; Las Alcobas is a beautiful hotel. It's well situated, within walking distance of Chapultepec Park and the Museo Nacional de Antropologia. The rooms are large and well laid out, with luxurious bathrooms, and are immaculately clean. My fifth floor room had a lovely view of a flowering jacaranda tree and the surrounding Polanco area, where there is great (but expensive) shopping. Wake-up calls included room service delivery of coffee or tea. Service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The concierge was able to arrange for a sightseeing tour of the city with a private driver with only one and a half hour's notice! Cesar Martinez, the driver, was very pleasant and courteous, and provided me with the best tour I've ever had as a tourist. He was extremely well informed about the history and culture of Mexico, introduced me to many of Mexico City's intriguing neighbourhoods, and suggested sights to see (such as the Museo Dolores Olmedo Patino), which were fascinating and which I probably would have missed had he not shared his knowledge of the city with me. When I return to Mexico City, I'll definitely be staying at Las Alcobas again.

Meters away form restaurants and cool shops, excellent access to DF's Zocalo, makes this small hotel a pearl in the middle of a vibrant city. Well trained and caring staff rounds the deal. Chick style boutique hotel with extreme attention to detail makes you go wow more than once for shure..! enjoy.

After another so fantastic stay at the Hotel brick, we decided to try this hotel on our way back through mexico city. Our welcome was seamless, perhaps the best I ever head. We booked within hours of arrival so were beautifully surprised at the efficient check in and the room customized to our arrival. Before we blinked our bags were already there before we stepped through the door, blink a lovely drink to sooth, blink something sweet to make you feel right at home. Location is great , we probably prefer more urban locations but I would say for most visitors to mexico this is the spot. Wide roads , exclusive stores and huge shopping centers around the corner. The rooms are lovley, big bath, comfortable bed and a strong lockout blind system for the perfect night sleep. Unfortunately across the 3 days, breakfast time seamed a struggle. Each morning we would call at least 3 times to ask for items that we realised were left out. From bread, to milk, to the tea , butter etc etc. it was like the kitchen was not part of this hotel, the standards varied so greatly. Maybe we had bad luck? But if we stay here next time we'll be eating breakfast out.

Everything about Las Alcobas was spot on. First, the location is fantastic - in lovely Polanco. Every detail has been thought through by the hotel's designers and management from the beautifully designed space to the amenities. It all works, unlike some boutique hotels. We loved the gorgeous lobby and our room was chic, comfortable and functional all at the same time (bathroom was also fantastic and we enjoyed the handmade local soaps). Breakfast in the serene restaurant was very good, too. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel was quite luxurious and modern but small and intimate, which was great. We're so glad we stayed here instead of the Four Seasons. It was our first time in Mexico City and we would definitely go back to Las Alcobas!

My first stay at Las Alcobas in Polanco, a great location, trust me. The staff is great, knowledgable, very friendly, accommodating and just the way I like to stay at a great Boutique Hotel, with an upscale very good Mexican Restaurant. A second Restaurant in the Hotel is open for breakfast only. The breakfast menu....delicious items and great croissants. Love the hardwood floors in the rooms as well as the amenities in the bathroom (at arrival, a Butler greets you explaining the room, and you may select a soap of your choice) great touch. The minibar offers a variety of soft drinks and water....all complimentary. I can go on and on, stay there ones, you will not be disappointed. Oh, I forgot to mention.....Great beds/mattress and pillows. The hotel has drivers avail. on request. It's reasonable to go from A to B. I used the driver service (Jonathan and Edgar) often to visit my clients around town....fabulous, o time service.

Tom

This hotel is very well located, in the middle of trendy shops and beautiful restaurants. You can always trust the hotel staffs where to go to eat. I have two little girls and they just loved this hotel. They got so happy immediately with the delicious welcome drink. When we entered into the room, they found a pretty basket with all those good mexican sweets. And each of us could choose nice hand made soap. Yes, my favorite was the bathroom. You can relax in the bathtub with mood light and jets. The body scrub they provide is very good too. The people who work in this hotel are wonderful. They are there to help you all the time. We just fell in love with them. We are going back this hotel again.
