“Plus 1 Service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2013

If you ever read the book Raving Fans, you'll understand Plus 1 service. The staff is attentive, they remembered my special requests from the past and this little gem never ceases to amaze me. The new restaurant, Anatole, is a great addition. Didn't get a chance to stroll in Polanco this trip but the location makes the area very walkable. Definitely coming back when I need to be in Mexico City.

Just finishing up an incredible stay at Los Alcobas during my first visit to Mexico City. This elegant hotel is the height of contemporary design but manages to maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The entire staff and the General Manager offer incredible, personalized service and couldn't be more helpful.
Complimentary services like morning coffee delivery and pressing service in your room win my heart as a business traveler.
I will dream about the Mexican breakfast and only wish I could have worked my way through the entire menu. The chic new organic restaurant Anatol is also not to be missed.
Los Alcobas will be my home every time I visit Mexico City!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and just loved it. It is a modern boutique hotel with just 30 rooms. Room rates include the following:

- complimentary mini bar soft drinks & Mexican snacks
- internet
- continental breakfast till 11.30am
- complimentary ironing of clothes (invaluable when traveling with only carry-on luggage)
- butler service
- early bird special in the spa for double time on massages and 15% off till 3pm everyday! Early Bird till 3pm?! Love it!!

Rooms: Attention to detail in the rooms is outstanding (3 way full length mirrors; Bose sound systems; centralized room controls for lighting, climate, drapes.) …super comfortable beds…shower (rain+hand-held with 6 body jets) is FANTASTIC!

Service: Exceptional personalized service! Every member of staff from the butler, doorman, front desk, restaurant showed a level of attentiveness that seems to be missing from so many 5-star hotels these days.

The only negative was the gym. It is a hotel room converted into a gym which is not very well equipped (1 treadmill and 1 elliptical). You can only use the gym after 9 am and a member of the staff has to let you in (you can’t use your room key). Overall given the rest of the quality of this hotel, this issue is minor.

Looking forward to returning to Las Alcobas!

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with a trip to Mexico City and a stay at Las Alcobas. Because of the occassion, I wanted everything to be perfect and, ultimately, it was. Our original booking was for a corner room but, because one side of the room faced east, it became very warm in the morning and we asked if we could move to another room. The second room was perfect (as was the corner room were it not for the eastern exposure). The bed linens are of the
finest cotton and the bed ultra comfortable. There is a seating area with a chaise and chair for relaxing, reading, etc. and a desk for business or personal use. In the desk drawer are office supplies including a stapler, paperclips, etc. which I've never seen provided in any hotel--really a nice consideration. The bathroom is large and well layed out with a large vanity, separate tub, shower and toilet areas. The dressing area with both open and closed storage and a 3-way mirror concealed behind doors is conveniently located outside the bathroom. All of the staff is congenial and anxious to please. Michael C, the GM, greeted us by name and sent my husband a handwritten note, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries on his birthday--a very much appreciated gesture. Our rate included a full Mexican breakfast which consisted of a fresh fruit compote, pastries and a choice of several hot breakfast options. During our stay we tried all of the selections and were not disappointed. SInce Mexico City's climate is so pleasant, we have decided it to be our "go to" place to escape either the heat of summer or the cold of winter--and Las Alcobas will be our first choice of accommodations.

Room Tip: East facing corner rooms tend to heat up in the morning. Assume west facing rooms would heat up sim...

I don’t travel to Mexico City that often but when I do I usually stay at the W Hotel in Polanco which is a great hotel on to its own, but this past Labor Day weekend I traveled to Mexico City in a last minute trip to visit my ill family member and I selected to stay at Las Alcobas (The Alcoves) in Polanco. From the outside is a very simple modern looking building, but once you enter you are immediately impressed with the interior architecture of its small entry lobby, luxurious waiting area & reception and beautifully crafted center circular stair. Equally impressive are its corridors with dark hardwood flooring and exotic hardwood walls which lead you to your luxurious suite.

When you inter your suite you are again impressed with the hardwood flooring through the suite and exotic hardwood walls for the entry foyer, closet doors & dress area. Your bath flooring & walls are one piece of granite slab which extend from the floor to the ceiling on all four walls. The exotic wood vanity & polish faucets contrast beautifully with the light bluish granite slab walls. In the main sleeping area of your suite your bed sits on a hand-knotted rug over hardwood flooring. The bed’s head board is framed on each side with custom leather padded squares which extends to the ceiling. Over the head board is a large mirror frame with the same exotic wood of the suite’s foyer walls. To one side is a custom made work counter, a 2 foot wide cabinet that extends from the floor to the ceiling housing your mini bar, safe and other amenities. In addition to your beautifully design environment, your suite is also highly technical with wifi and an automation control center that operates the window coverings, lighting, climate control, clock alarm, telephone and messaging. For entertainment there is a flat panel TV with Bose surround sound system that is also wired to the bath room to enjoy your favorite music as you relax in the suite’s hot tub.

In addition to Las Alcobas beautiful interior architecture is their supreme attention to personal service, they pamper you with personal butler service which is available 24 hour to fulfill any request you may have, it’s great in the morning when you awake and your favorite Starbucks coffee is brought to you by your butler. You are also treated with a breakfast to be enjoyed on the 2nd floor restaurant or if you prefer brought to your suite each morning.

The Aurora spa is excellent for relieving your stress and enhancing your stay with a relaxing experience. My many thanks and complements to the director of the spa Marjorie for her personal attention, the spa pampers you with a verity of aroma therapy, body scrubs and hot stone massages. When you stay at Las Alcobas you definitely must make the time to experience the Aurora spa for the ultimate relaxing experience.

Anatol restaurant is truly a great one with their attention to detail and personal service not to say a great wine list and delicious dishes, my complement to the chef Justin. It is a great experience and a must while visiting Polanco. My many thanks to the restaurant manager Juan Pablo for making my dining experience a special and rememberable one.

Las Alcobas many services truly reflect on the hotel general manager Michael Chiche vision for your experience at Las Alcobas to be the very best and to make it your home away from home. The entire staff at Las Alcobas worked together to fulfill Michael's vision, my personal complements to Michael for making my experience at Las Alcobas outstanding and I look forward in staying at Las Alcobas in the future. I can say I have found my personal alcove in Polanco Mexico City. I highly recommend staying at Las Alcobas when you visit Mexico City D.F.
