“TRULY A HOME AWAY FROM HOME”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

This is my fifth stay at home, at Las Alcobas, and, it truly has become a home. In fact, despite having a residence in Mexico City, I opt to stay at Las Alcobas.

From the design of the space, meant to evoke the feeling of being a guest in an upscale home in Mexico, to the outstanding service that is flawless for its understatement and attention, staying at Las Alcobas is truly a unique experience unlike any other hotel I've stayed in the world. In fact, I really believe that Las Alcobas redefines the Mexican aesthetic that many other experiences in the City have yet to move beyond.

The rooms are impeccably appointed providing the experience of high design you'd expect from a boutique hotel, and high touch that you'd expect from a "grade dame" hotel and truly one of the most comfortable beds ever. The bathrooms are perfectly designed providing bright light, latest fixtures (a shower to die for) and technology, and wonderfully unique Mexican soaps. Try the coffee!

The food in both restaurants is without compare. Anatole provides gourmet American comfort food that is at once familiar and surprising for the twists these classic dishes feature. And, Dulce Patria artfully elevates Mexican dishes to a level on a par with the great restaurants of the world, while remaining rooted in the fresh and simple flavors that make this cuisine so delicious.

But, ultimately, Las Alcobas is about scale. It is an environment that, again, evokes home, and all services and amenities scale to this experience: inviting spaces that quickly feel your own; services that make you feel tended to, without feeling overwhelmed; food that reminds you of being home with chefs from around the world; and a "welcome back" that quickly makes the scale of Mexico City's vastness fall way to that of your most comfortable home.

Room Tip: If your budget allows, the suites with terraces are sterling. A slightly quieter experience can be h...

Dear Eduardo B,
Thank you very much for your comments on Las Alcobas. If you choose the coffee soap you may have felt energized during your entire stay. Next time you come you should also add a treatment in our SPA "Aurora". Happy Holidays for you and your family. See you again soon in Mexico City.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights over Thanksgiving holiday. The hotel is beautifully designed in a great location. What a treat to be able to walk to great restaurants and museums in the upscale Polanco area of Mexico City, as traffic can be a problem in the city. The staff was very capable , gracious, and accommodating even helping with restaurant reservations and suggestions before we left home. During our stay, they helped by having a painting and frame taken apart and wrapped securely for the flight back home. The room itself was wonderfully comfortable with a luxurious bed, refreshing shower with overhead and side water jets, good wi-fi, complimentary snacks and beverages, and large TV. Thanks, Tripadvisor for helping us find this hotel. We will be staying here on our next trip to Mexico City for sure.

This is a very classy boutique hotel in an upmarket part of town. Great planning has gone into the design and furnishing of the rooms and every detail has been thought of to deliver a first class hotel. Plenty of nice restaurants and upmarket shopping outlets are close at hand. The staff are excellent and most helpful, with most having a good command of English. The technology included in the design is most impressive, with electronic everything pretty well at the touch of a screen.

Room Tip: We stayed in the same room on both occasions, so no suggestions other than to get a room facing the...

The possibility to find an hotel like this by means of trip advisor is definitely one of the reason to continue to use it for all my trips.
The hotel is small (in dimensions) but great in services.
The personnel is kind and always at your disposal.
Room is clean and quite.
Restaurants are really great.
Definitely a place to stay when in DF, either for business or for pleasure.

Exceptional boutique hotel in the Polanco area. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with lots of technology. All the lights and curtains a controlled from a central station near the bed and the shower (separate from the bath) has more showerheads than I've ever seen before.

Breakfast was also very relaxing with delicious choices and finely prepared.

All-in-all a truly excellent hotel.

I have been in one of the best suites of the alcobas and I have to say it was really great!
Located in the heart of polanco, directly on the 5th avenue of mexico city,it is for sure one of the best location in a city where traffic and pollution are among the worst enemies.
The rooms are modern and clean, service is attentive, maybe breakfast a little weak, but a good choice in town. Some rooms perhaps Too noisy

The combination of excellent customer service, superb location, sumptuous comfy bedding, in room snacks, delicious Mexican breakfasts, state of the art equipment, relaxing soothing spa treatments on the second floor...make Las Alcobas a perfect choice after a day of activity in Mexico City. This was my second visit in less than a year to Las Alcobas. The last time I traveled alone and this recent visit I brought my two children. We were always welcomed with a smile. I had mentioned in an e-mail before our arrival that I would need a store to find Sprite and Ginger Ale for my picky child. When I arrived for our 3 night stay they informed me they had stocked the small refrigerator with his beverages of choice. It's this type of outstanding service and care for their guests that distinguishes Las Alcobas from the rest. We ordered room service from their new restaurant Anatol and it was both prompt and delicious. Try the sorbet for a delightful accompaniment to your meal. I recommend the zucchini flower tempura as a yummy appetizer. Zucchini flowers are one of my favorite things to eat in Mexico City. Huevos divorciados is a great choice for their Mexican breakfast. My young daughter enjoyed the Huitlacoche omelette...wondeful! The juice, the sweet breads, the coffee awesome...Everyone, absolutely everyone from management to the people who took great care of us or greeted us warmly at the door made this a trip to remember for my daughter, my son, and me. Our sincere thanks...Las Alcobas is the kind of place you remember fondly and long to return to. We will be back...I'm sure.
