“Fantastic Tostadas and Aguas”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

On this first trip to DF, I had two foodie pilgrimages to make, and this was one of them. A short wander into the heart of the Coyoacan market will get you there; patrons on stools focused on their snacks, dishes piled high with beautiful food, and yellow-aproned servers dishing out tostadas at high speed let you know you're in the right spot. I tried the pollo con mole, which I piled high with pickled jalapenos, and an agua tamarindo. Delicious. Still feel like an idiot for having eaten a large breakfast, one, and not trying the octopus ceviche, two.

“Best Tostados in DF & What A Show!”
Reviewed 16 March 2013

I've been to Coyocan a number of times, but today's trek across town was to simply have lunch and try Tostados de Coyocan. Located in the heart of the Coyocan Market, it would be hard to miss this eaterie. In fact, it has to now be the single largest food venue in the market. I was lucky enough to get a stool at the main table where the tostadas were being prepared (by far, the best seat in the house)! Menus are hanging everywhere so it would be hard to miss what was available. Here, a few Spanish food words would come in handy such as pulpo or camaron. Order one tostado at a time. The ingredient of choice is spooned up generously and you'll more than likely want to try a couple different ones. From what I could see, tostados were either $25 or $35MX per tostada. Seafood tostadas were the more expensive ones. Oh, but what a treat! I tried both an octopus and a shrimp tostada and was equally pleased with both. Based upon your tastes and inclinations, there's probably not a bad choice to be made. Fruit water is avilable of $15MX. All in all, I had more than I could eat and didn't even come close to spending a ten dollar bill. This was a fun lunch spot. You won't believe how fast these guys can throw a tostada together. It was busy although I didn't really see anyone waiting. Sit down and the waiters working up and down the rows will have tostadoes in front of you in no time at all. A great experience to add to your visit to DF.

“Amazing.”
Reviewed 20 January 2013

It's a testament to this in-market eatery that they have taken over a number of adjacent stalls than their primary one. The towering dishes piled with an assortment of tostada toppings is mouthwatering. I settled on ceviche, octopus, and mole chicken. All were stupendous but the ceviche was amazing. Just the right balance of lemon and spices. The only thing that stopped me from licking the plate clean was the crowd eating around me. Worth the visit.

“Great place in Coyocan market”
Reviewed 21 July 2012

I have made the trek out to Coyocan every time I have visited Mexico City, and a highlight has always been a mid afternoon snack at Tostados Coyacan. Hidden away in the heart of the market, it is well worth seeking out. Fish and shrimp cebiche is always top of my list; the fresh juices are also good. Definitely recommended.

“Please do stop here on your way to Frida Kahlo Museum”
Reviewed 2 June 2012

hey everyone if you are looking for a great local place to eat near Frida Kahlo museum, do find this place inside of the Mercado Coyoacan. The tostadas are 35 pesos each and they are incredibly fresh! Don't be scared to order, just point and ask them how many tostadas you want. The agua refresca is incredibly refreshing also( i asked them and they are made from bottle water and i had no stomach problems). I wish i can go back there again.
