“Great hostel for a great price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2013

3 friends and I stayed in a 4-bed room with bathroom. The room was clean and had plenty of space. Building security was excellent and there were lockers in the room, although I had to buy a padlock from a vending machine. The facilities were excellent and the roof deck a big bonus! The free breakfast was very good (cereal, fruit, eggs, frijoles, bread, tea/coffee). Great service and they let us leave our backs in a secure room all day after we checked out. The only downsides were that the sheets were quite old and worn, and then the street the hostel is on was pretty much deserted which might have been risky if we´d been out late at night. But overall a great experience and I´d definitely stay there again.

We were supposed to be in the other Hostel Amigo hostel round the corner, but there was a mess-up with the reservation, so we got sent here a little miffed.. then ended up in this place for 2 weeks! All the staff are super super friendly, huge rooftop area to hang out on & relaxed personnel with regards to having fun up there, inviting friends over & noise. Can play your own music up there if you want too. The location is perfect for exploring downtown & beyond, amazing street food nearby, and a lovely Mexican cantina down the road

I had a large room, queen or king size bed. My room faced the street, had a balcony, and even with the door open, being on the third floor what noise there is, I slept soundly on the nice and firm mattress.
Large walk-in shower. Always hot water. Large bathroom - bring your own soap and shampoo.
Very friendly personnel and excellent front desk staff 24 hours around. Tiny TV, but that's no problem, since I don't watch it. The furniture is modern and nothing to write home about, so I won't, except for the bed.
They arrange for tours. The one I took was to Teotihuacan.
Excellent location in the well patrolled historical center of MC, with many excellent sights in walking distance. About two minutes to the Cathedral and Templo Mayor.
Close to the metro.
They have three computers available for any guest to use at any time. There is also WiFi.
They offer a nice breakfast and a passable dinner on the roof terrace, where there is also a bar.

We stayed 2 nights here. We has just a few days to see Mexico City. The hostel is within walking distance to many sights and close to the metro. You get free breakfast and dinner.the only down side is the beds are a bit hard. P.s. the staff rocks

This hotel (hostel) has rooms for large groups as well as traditional rooms. For the price and location I think it was ok for a quick overnight stay if you are the kind of traveler who carries a large camping backpack everywhere you go and are trying to "find yourself" or escape from something and meet similar minded people from around the world. In that case, it is the perfect place for you; for others, the hostel environment might be a little odd.

The traditional hotel rooms are small. There is no air conditioning. There was a leak coming from somewhere in the bathroom that created a permanent puddle behind the toilet. The walls and large windows do not insulate sound so you will hear conversations and other activities coming from adjoining rooms, the lobby, and the street. The rooms is very basic. It has a bed, a small dresser, and two boxes with drawers that are supposed to be side tables but look like very uncomfortable chairs. There is a safe in the room.

The shower has a wall made of glass blocks and there is mildew between the blocks. The window in the bathroom is large and while open there are certain rooms above and at the correct angles from which someone could enjoy a free show of your lower body, at least. The sink is wider and deeper than most, which is a plus.

The hotel claims to have wifi. It does but don't expect to be able to use it. You will see guests using the wired lobby computer or wandering around trying to get connected. The hotel will claim that the national palace, which is across the street, because of the hundreds of signals it emits, interrupts the internet at the hotel. I was able to connect to the router but was not able to connect to the internet during my stay.

It is very close to the center of government, zocalo, and the subway station. These are the only apparent benefits to the hotel unless you are looking for the type of adventure that might attract a young drifter to a place with the qualities of this hotel (hostel).

Very good and professional people. It was my second time in this hostel abd everything was more than good. Food was totally OK and the location is just two blocks from Zocalo square! Keep up the good work! ;)

Everything was as expected. The hostel is simple and relax. The rooms are a bit humid but this is not a problem. Beds are really simple. Hostel was very calm when I was there. They offer breakfast and supper. Meals are just fine. Simple and average hostel.
