“typical airport hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2014

The traffic in Mexico city make it imperative to stay near the airport if you have just flown in and are flying out again the next morning, so put up with it! It is the typical airport hotel. Someone advised us to walk over the internal bridge to the airport to eat, but the food places had all shut when we got there so we had to eat at the hotel which offered standard mexican and international cuisine, not exciting and not cheap but exactly what you would expect from a large chain hotel, so no surprises there either. You do have the sense of familiarity, it could be any airport anywhere!

If you have an early morning flight to catch, this is the best option.
Mexico city traffic can be pretty terrible at any time of the day.
This is exactly what you'd expect for a business hotel, and right across the airport terminal with a few decent dining options.

The hotel lives from its location at the airport. I stayed here three times during the last two months. Rooms are clean, even the carpets are not state of the art anymore. You do not really want to stand on them...Breakfast is good but not cheap. Watch out where you book. In the Hotel at the desk is the most expensive way...Internet fee is a rip off. Service is not better than average.

When my American flight from Morelia to DFW was cancelled I was put up here for the night by the airline so my conception of value and price are skewed. The good: helpful staff, check in was quick, voucher was processed easily, restaurants are good and again accepted American voucher and seemed happy as opposed to put out to serve customers using them. The room was clean and the shower good. Lobby is quite open and semi-inviting. The bad: imagine what the Mexico City Airport smells like, this is what the lobby smells like -- strong and not fresh. The hallways, elevators etc. feel tired and run down. A tile fell in the room of my traveling companion, nearly missing his head after he entered the room for the first time. The airport: the good and bad are both because of the airport. The only reason someone would stay here is it is a sky bridge away from the airport, which is also why it smells bad and the owners feel no need to update or remodel. There are some modern and more appealing options (I have stayed at the NH before and the vibe was less sleazy) that unless cost is your only consideration, or the room is free and you have no choice, you should look elsewhere.

We had to stay because we missed our plane but it happened to be one of the best parts of my trip. Rooms are excellent, bathrooms are lovely, the whole environment was uplifting, but the best of all was breakfast. For a Mexican who has spent a lot of time out of her country, that gourmet Mexican cuisine was exquisite!! My compliments to the chef! Nothing to complain about!

If you need to be close to the airport, perhaps a missed connection, the camino real is a great hotel. Very friendly staff, very lovely rooms. The rooms can be a but cold and there isnt really heat, the only way for it to be relatively warm is to simply turn the air completely off. The lobby usually has live entertainment at the bar, a good time definitely! And just a few steps away from the airport and restaurants within.

The area of the hotel where I stayed was quite good, recently refurbished, not as bad as the rooms other travelers stayed in, apparently. The room was fairly large, clean, with a nice color scheme… the bathroom not that large but OK especially for one traveler. No bathtub.
However, there is no way to make coffee or tea in the room. Also the hotel is cheap in not offering even a small bottle of drinking water included in the room rate. The breakfast buffet is not cheap (around $23); it is fairly good; there is a freshly made omelette station and the usual fruits and cheese and some hot Mexican dishes….Unless you eat a lot at breakfast, skip it for lighter and maybe cheaper fare in the airport. Hotel rates are high, no doubt taking advantage of how close the hotel is to the airport terminal. The hotel is very convenient to the airport, you just have to cross a bridge over a big highway. There is a bridge directly connecting the hotel to one of the terminals. If you are taking an international flight (e.g. on a USA airline) do not go "downstairs" to the ground floor. Stay at the level you entered, turn left and you will have quite a hike to get to the international airlines.
