“NICE AND WELL LOCATED”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

Was a very clean and reasonable hotel in downtown Mexico City. Breakfast was included and the price of the rooms were most reasonable. Only one elevator and the eating area was a bit congested and breakfast was OK. This property is very well located and in a safe area if you walk outside at night. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: No wash cloths. Did have a Purified water outlet in the bathroom.

Location: centrally located, nearby several attractions and restaurants, one block from Bellas Artes, 10 minutes walk from Zoccalo and some minutes from the metro- quite convenient for travelers.
Rooms: clean room but not much spacious, nice décor with comfy beds, okay furnitures.
Bathroom: clean but small, with fresh towels and basic toiletries, good water pressure and big showers.
Food: Breakfast buffet was good with fresh juices, pancakes and yoghurt, service was friendly and courteous.
Staff: friendly and hospitable staff. Room service was timely and they change the towels every day.
On minus side not much except the gym- it was just okay rather average with no good machinery. Though Wi-Fi was complimentary but speed was below average. Rest all was good. It was an experience being in Mexico for the very first time. I was not disappointed with this budget hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend on September 27th-29th. My brother was vacationing in Mexico and I decided to meet up with him for a couple of days. The hotel is very conveniently located to Bellas Artes, Zocolo, Reforma and Alameda park area. There's nothing fancy about the rooms but I must say that the evenings were quiet. I did not hear any outside noise when sleeping which is not always the case in this area. The price was moderate. I didn't eat at the hotel due to the proximity of restaurants around there. There is a Sanborns about a block away going towards Bellas Artes. This is a nice moderately priced hotel. I would recommend if you are on a budget.

I must say this wasn't our first choice, we were supposed to be staying at the Howard Johnson, but it was totally full. ADVICE: During summer, make reservations in advance. TheMarlowe was the only hotel in this area with available rooms. But I must immediately say that it was actually good.
The room is comfortable, everything is very clean. The bed in our bedroom was really nice, quite soft. Towels, sheets, carpets, everything in good shape and very clean. Hotel staff nice enough, we read some bad reviews about the staff but they were really good with us. Specially the Bell boy from the morning shift.
While the room was ready they have no problem taking your bags.
The taxi service from the hotel is save and cheaper than normal city cabs, use them, but ALWAYS check your route in your gps before you get in to ANY CAB, they have the bad habit of asking you where should they go to get where you want.
Ojo: there is no air conditioner, there is a little noisy ceiling fan, we didn't need it but It could be a bit of a pain to hear it working while trying to sleep.

Room Tip: Our room was in the inside of the building, so ask for a room like 201, 202, etc, it's quiet...

Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, and helped us out with our language issues. Surrounding clean and the bed very comforatble. The breakfast in the morning hit the spot from our one night stopver and the staff was very helpful to us. This is somewhere i would certainly return.

Room Tip: Rooms were good, hovever noise from passage was a hindrance to sleep

Need a pillow, a clean sheet, take a nice shower, feel safe, get off the street, this has to be the place. You can carry your own bags, mingle with some back packing Americans and Europeans and see downtown Mexico.

Room Tip: Be careful the walls are thin, and you can hear someone sneeze in the next room.
