Since I first contact the sales team with a request for a special night, they came back quickly and with good ideas. The service since the check in to the check out was outstanding, the room great, the view amazing, the food so tasty (both the in-room dinner and brunch next day).

Only a few problems I see:
- The entrance to the hotel is not easy to see.
- Despite located in one of the nicest areas of Mexico City, the street outside is not well maintained.
- If you want to access Mexico City´s main attractions, this hotel is far from them, but great if you are there for business in the Santa Fe area.

Stayed two nights this week on business. There was no hit water in my room after 7pm, both nights. When I checked out, I was told it could have been due to the renovations. No discount or credit offered, not even an apology.

Also, it's dated. Bathrooms are old, the wifi does not work consistently throughout the hotel because it is a huge cement block. I am an reward member of this chain, but not impressed with this location.

I really wanted to give this place a 5 and on some days wanted to give a 3.
My purpose for travel was for business and stayed almost a week at this hotel.

About 1 hour travel from Airport in early afternoon, traffic was heavy. Cost was $380 pesos via authorized taxi. Make sure you tell them that you are going to Santa Fe, there are two Intercontinental and the one in Polanco is better known because the Santa Fe is new. My driver didn't know where it was actually located.
Arrive in a very small courtyard between two car dealerships to a tall narrow building. Lots of people greet you at the entrance, English fair. Good start. Lobby on the 3rd floor and very pretty, too bad for all the leaks in the ceiling. Check-in was fast and easy. My room was modern and had a great view. Bed extremely comfortable, desk is very large and faced the view. Couch, easy chair, large tv which swivels and allows you to watch/listen while in the bathroom. Mini bar/fridge, sink, coffee maker, safe in the room. Shower, no tub, water pressure ok.
Pros: Lots of staff everywhere. They all greet you and by mid week, know your name and greet you personally. Nice look and feel to the hotel. Lots of space in the room and well laid out. comfortable bed. Pretty good food in the restaurant(s).
Cons: The staff are inexperienced and need lots of training. The desire is there. They really try hard, but not to the level expected for a luxury business hotel. Example: At 6:30 on a Sunday evening, we were directed by the concierge to a few restaurants for dinner. Too bad when we walked through rain to several, they were all closed. When we came back, he said that restaurants close early on Sunday. Maybe he should have told us that before sending us out. Then he suggests that we try the hotel restaurants. Too bad we went to three of them and they were closed. Thank goodness the last one we tried was open. This is unacceptable as a concierge should have checked and told us all of this. It took one hour to settle down to a restaurant. There are several other examples of advice given that did not work. My biggest beef is with internet. Told it cost $20 US per night BUT later found out that we had a business group code for free.
Room: Walls are thin. I could hear either the voices or the tv in the next room and what sounded like construction at night. Doors are not solid and you can hear slamming doors, voices, traffic and the maid in the hallway. Maid service was mixed. Excellent one day and intermediate the next.
Amenities: Fitness room is very small and only equipped with 5 cardio and a rack of weights. It is packed in here in the morning and being dark out didn't want to go outside. The hotel restaurant for breakfast is also extremely small, odd to have a communal table in the middle. Buffet okay and again the staff is inexperienced.

Santa Fe is a modern business area and you feel as if you are in any large city. It's far from the central or tourist part of the city and traffic is busy to/from this area. There is a large mall and good eating places within walking distance. Ate at the restaurants in the hotel, Bellaria, Tios and Norte Sur nearby. There are grocery store (Superama, Sam's Club) and a 7-11 nearby. Walking is okay, the sidewalks aren't well designed for this. Area is safe, but watch out for car traffic when crossing the street.

The hotel is set inside a business building in between, lobby is actually not on first floor. The room are large, amazing view to the city, unlike many of its partners, it gives me more of a hip boutique hotel feel than luxury hotels. Receptions are friendly but bit unexperience, took us 30 min to check n and check out( as a priority platinum member this should have been pick up the key and go) Most of the staffs (Valet and rest ) prompt and attention to details , ( all speak english). I had a cold and craved for soup, the roomservice went extra mile and got me one even was not offered in the time slot or menu. Spa service was convenience and willing to take in appt last minute or late night. Overall is a great hotel, if you do business in centro, this location is not ideal due to traffic, if not,, hotel is located right in front largest mall and near great restaurants. Definetly a great choice.

Room Tip: Near Shopping Santa Fe,lots of choices in food, shopping or money exchange. if you transit in between cities in Mexico choose to depart from Toluca this is good location near the Toluca airport and save you transit time.

Business hotels are generally more or less the same, however, the Intercontinental Santa Fe had a much different feel in the guest room. The room which was new and swanky, the bed was turned to face the panoramic window view. This made for a much different look and feel from other hotel rooms. It made a huge difference in the entire "feel" of the room (better feng shui?). The desk which was situated behind the bed also faced the picture windows and made for a very productive work environment. I stayed in this hotel over 1 week and it helped generate productive business results. Service, value, location and quality were also exceptional!
