Very cool hotel. Loved the vibe. Rooms are spectacular. Only issue was the room service. The food was was not fresh, even my kids complained.

This hotel needs a revamp badly, but that I could have lived with.......but the attitude of the staff is something that will not change.....this attitude comes from the management and filters down....you just have to read the GM answers to any bad review to realize this.

here are a few exceptions to this amongst staff, the girl on concierge was delightful.

Most other people were hideous, you really felt like you were disturbing them .

he rooms are hideous, tired chipped and a stupid design. Small mean water bottles supplied free? Big deal there should be endless, The showers drip constantly, and someone always knocks on your door if you put the do not disturb sign up.

breakfast is stupidly expensive and the room is freezing. There seems to be no heating in public spaces, girl on front desk at breakfast wore a puffer jacket every day!

really this is a lousy hotel, if you are a middle aged business man who wants to take a bimbo away for a dirty weekend this is perfect! otherwise stay somewhere else like Los alcobos cheaper and much more luxurious.

Three things you will need if staying atvthe W Mexico City this winter. 1. A warm puffer jacket, preferably full length 2. A torch 3. Patience. This W hotel is not unlike many of the others in this chain, except the concept of cool has been taken to new meanings. Rude staff on the front desk, no heating in the public areas so the bar and restaurant is literally freezing, and the lighting in the rooms is so cool that you cannot read in bed (too dark) and cannot see the aircon controls without a torch (that torch app on iPhone comes in hand). The rooms are big, clean, the food is good and if you shiver you way through to the bar the staff are excellent and make a great cocktail. Gym is small but well set up. The hotel is also well located, next to all the other major hotels - which I suggest would be the better choice. This latest W experience has put me off W hotels anywhere.

I stayed at this hotel on a business trip in the beginning of last month. It is very modern, with spacious rooms and good internet connection. The bathroom is the most different I have ever seen. The bathing area is very large (a room) and even has a hammock ! The shower can come from the top or from the sides.
The hotel is close to very good restaurants and stores, in a high income area.
I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: High floors

The hotel is the typically "hip" place you would expect from the W chain. My room was big and had a great view of the city from huge windows (more like an entire glass wall) from a high floor. The best part though was the shower with a hammock tied underneath that was right by this great view. The staff was friendly and hopeful, and they have a funky bar in the lobby with good cocktails. The location is good as well, but not exactly central for tourists.

Room Tip: Get a high floor for a view over the city.

We liked this hotel from the moment we walked in the door and were greeted like long lost friends by both the porter and by the receptionist, and were relieved to find no sign of the usual snotty trendy-hotel attitude. The lobby bar looked tempting and a good place to see and be seen although we never actually got to use it. The elevator had a strange birdcage sculpture which although not unpleasing aesthetically, managed to hit my head on it on every ride!
We loved the colourful, bright and airy room and the open plan bathroom and also loved the idea of the hammock slung across the room, the perfect place for a siesta. The W is ideally situated on the edge of Polanco, a neighbourghood known for great shopping and restaurants and there are a generous handful of good restaurants (and Starbucks) right outside. We stay in Mexico City regularly and will be making this our base whenever possible.
