Hotel Camino Real Santa Fe Mexico
Ranked #159 of 312 Hotels in Mexico City
Reviewed 12 December 2008

Stayed at the Camino Real for the second time now and sure the service is not the best, it has improved a lot. This hotel is just recently bought by the Camino Real group, so the management is still "working" on improving the service I feel. The rooms are nice, clean and fairly spacious. The shower/bathroom is fine. The location is great if you need to be in Santa Fe, if you want to go to the center, it is indeed pretty far. Over the weekend Santa Fe is dead, there is nothing to do, so this might not be your preferred hotel to stay during that time.

Overall the hotel was priced reasonable, I booked it over Expedia and paid $70 per night, really good price, it even included free internet. Just be careful, because all the rest is extra, minibar, water, breakfast, parking, nothing is included, and if you need any of these items, the price runs up fast.

For my stay, two nights, I was happy with the overall service. The check out time could indeed be better and more efficient.

I never have the time or desire to write a hotel review except for this time.
I think is fair that everybody that is considering this place to lodge should know some facts and the inability of this people to solve issues. I rented a room for 1 night along with my family of 3. I was waken up at 1:30 in am from the kitchen to ask “did you order an ice cooler”. I was half a sleep and told the caller I found hard to re-engage in sleep after this interruption. The captain in charge re-called me at 1:45 to check if I ordered a carbon soda service (what you order to mix whiskey) I was like, what the heck you are talking about man??. I ended up talking to the manager at night duty with million of apologies. I demanded that the guy that ordered the carbon soda service should be billed for my useless night in this crap of hotel. Of course in the morning the front desk manager gave me a million of apologies and told me that they can not do anything about the incident. Not even a courtesy breakfast.
I was so upset that I decided not to waste my time with people that do not have knowledge of what costumer service is. So I recommend you to avoid this hotel at all causes and opt for an us chain instead. I got a nice bill for 198 us dollars a night.

I have to say that this hotel has a very bad service! I would go any other hotel in the zone of Santa Fe before this one. Staff and specialy the night manager is rude! Expect to wait literraly 2 hours for room service!

This is a cool looking, new, modern hotel in the biz district of Santa Fe. Be aware that this is far removed from any tourist activities.

Room was very clean, and cool design... although a bit akwardly arranged. Lighting was a bit poor in the room at night... during the day, floor to ceiling windows remedy. Nice shower. Very confortable bed... could be a bit firm for some. Air conditioning worked uncommonly well for Mexico.

Breakfast buffet was quite good, and included in my room rate. Ask for the huevos con machaca.

Room service was friendly and fast, but a bit on the expensive side, and didn't think it was of the best quality. Ordered Mexican plates.. possible that Italian would be better since it comes from Italian restaurant downstairs.

Workout facilities were modern and well air conditioned, but only 3 treadmills.. had to wait to get on one. I don't care if there is a personal trainer (there was) but I hate to wait for a treadmill when I have to make a morning meeting.

Checkout on Friday morning was a total drag. Had to wait in line 30 minutes, and they charged me for breakfast although it had been included in my room rate. It was handled professionally, but the wait was intolerable.

We stayed in this hotel for a work trip to mexico city.
The hotel is very modern and stylish, the rooms are large and the fit and finish is above average.
The room we got had two double beds, a good size work table, a comfortable sitting chair, plenty of wadrobe space, an iron and board in room, a good size bathroom, with a shower and no bath.
the shower did leak into the toilet area which was annoying, room service was good - but the breakfast was excellent - one of the best hotel breakfast buffets ever.
Its in Santa Fe which is a long (1/2 hour at least) drive from downtown, but its only a 2 minute tax ride from Santa Fe shopping centre, which is very nice.
The area is very safe and clean and though a little boring (its the new part of the city) there are plenty of good restaurants and bars close by - even an english pub serving good english beer!
Overall a nice modern hotel

I recently stayed here for a conference. The hotel is pretty new, and the staff is very attentive and polite. The rooms themselves are very "mod" - a bit on the dark side, for my taste, but lots of nice fixtures. Santa Fe is FAR from the center of Mexico City, but if you have to be in this neighborhood for work, it's fine.

Hotel Vesta is located in the very new Santa Fe area. The hotel is modern and extremely clean. Staff is friendly and while there are a good number that don't speak english, they make a strong effort to communicate with you and meet your needs. There are some kinks with the hotel- because it is so new, the Sky Bar on the room isn't open yet, there is no pool and the outdoor area of the restaurant is still being constructed. The hotel has terrible water pressure and hot water was often a problem but I learned that if you called the front desk they had some mysterious trick to turn it up remotely. The bar area is on the small side. But overall the hotel was very nice- comfortable beds, turn down service, robe and slippers, furniture built into wall. One tip....there is a cord on the far left of the curtains to open/close them. Trust me, after many attempts at tugging the curtains, you'll be happy to know this.
