Description: Since 1924, Loma Linda has been known for its excellent service and out of this world dishes. We were the first restaurant in Mexico City to grill our meats using charcoal. We are already an undeniable tradition. Various generations have enjoyed themselves in our tables and our dining rooms. We have an extensive menu with the finest Angus certified cuts. Loma Linda, a delicious tradition.

The meat isn't good. The taste is average, a bit rough. They don't taste as before, and the waitress are unbearable, easily getting on your nerves.
The terrace is ok, much better than the restaurant down stairs.
For lunch or you will end bloated and heavy after that quantity of meat. The wine is ok.

“High quality meat”
Reviewed 5 November 2012

A client took us there for lunch. We were the four of us and chose various types of meats and shared. It was scrumptious. The meat was so tender! My client is a regular, so we got top notch service.
We ordered crepes for desert. They were made with goat cheese filing (sweet), I loved it.
I hope they take us back there next time!

Very tasty food, high quality but service can be terrible with waiters easily getting on your nerves for staring and talking behind your back.

“Good steak, but just wished service was clearer”
Reviewed 23 June 2012

I first visited in early 2012 for a weekday business lunch, and was impressed by the busy restaurant, beautiful terrace and good food. So I decided to return with my partner, this time on a Saturday afternoon.

From the website, it was unclear what time lunch service starts (since they serve breakfast as well), but we thought since OpenTable allowed us a 1pm booking, they would be serving lunch from 1pm onwards (it's the earliest any Mexican restaurant would serve lunch). When we arrived, they were still having their staff briefing, and informed that they were cleaning the terrace after breakfast (which was supposed to end by 12 noon). We waited for 30 mins, and was just going to walk out of the restaurant when they said that they could seat us upstairs at the terrace.

We went up and saw that there were two groups who were seated, and were furious that we had to wait for 30 mins downstairs. The waiter explained that they were from the breakfast group, and that they were cleaning up. He immediately apologized for us waiting (which is unusual because you have no idea how many waiters in Mexico behave as if you owe them a living).

The attentive service, good steak (we tried the Angus Rib Eye and the national Filet Mignon) and salads did make up somewhat for the bad start. The Rib Eye was more flavorful than the Filet Mignon. Portions were generous, and it very rare to find a restaurant in Mexico that understands "medium rare" (they tend to overcook).

I'm a sucker for desserts, so I jumped at the "Lindt Chocolate Cake" option, which turned out to be a little better than Devil's Food Cake. My partner ordered Hagen Daaz ice cream, which came in an individual cup (we thought it would be 2 scoops with at least some fancy decorations).

Overall, one of the better choices in Mexico for steak, but I just wished they were clearer on their lunch service time/ booking.
