The food kept coming! 10 small courses, each very different and interesting. Service was good and the pace of food was appropriate. The food is good value at around MXN 900 but the wine and drinks can very quickly add up to more than the food.

Having been trying to get there for a while but eventually a mid-day call for a dinner worked out well (ok, early dinner by local standards, at 7:00p but still) and I'm sure that asking nicely and being flexible enough will get you a table - and yes, it is worth it !

Not by chance that Pujol is for a while on world's Top 50 list - amazing and imaginative food, beautiful presentation, original ideas: all that makes for one of the best restaurants I've ever been to and a value for money which is just unbelievable !

Degustation menu -check out their web site- is perfect, with some 10 dishes or so, in small portions allowing to enjoy everything and leaving almost a bit hungry. As some choices are still imposed we went for romerito herb salad -to die for-, great squash and one of the best fish ceviche I ever had. All is not only good but also beautifully served: rich wine list with well priced old world wines but also some good local options. Worth staying one day more in Mexico DF just to enjoy the place.

I had dinner here with friends. When we arrived our table was not ready at the correct time so we had to wait. I ordered a bottle of 2009 Ribeiro del Douro wine with our food. The wine came. I later looked at the cork and saw it was 2010, not 2009. When I pointed this out to the head waiter I was told it was the same wine and he would not discuss the quality of the wine with me! This was surreal. When I insisted that this was not acceptable and that they should have pointed out the substitution and checked if we were happy with that he finally apologised and accepted it was mistake. So reaction 1 was arrogance and bluster, and reaction 2 was ok but late. The food was ok, but not exceptional. Interesting but not the best regional high end cuisine I enjoyed. Disappointed overall. But at least a hilariously head waiter who doesn't demean himself by discussing the wine with clientele. So funny!

I travel for food - and Pujol blew away even my high expectations. Execution of each plate is flawless which lets you focus on the technique and flavors. Every dish was unique - and the restaurant has a globally unique point of view with it's New Mexican cuisine.

If you like food and want to see where it's going globally - go there now!
