“Not really a great experience”
Reviewed 22 December 2013

I've been traveling to Mexico City once a year, and for the past couple of years I've tried experimenting with non-chain hotels like this one. I was not very happy with staying here. Rooms were pretty old, internet was not really good and I didn't really like breakfast. However, the location is rather good (near WTC and the Metrobus). I am not sure if I would stay here again, especially because it wasn't much cheaper than the nearby holiday inn which is definitely better.

You can't judge a book by it's cover. On the surface, the Vermont looks really good but falls short in the details.
Our stay was for 2 nights. The reception staff were efficient. When we got to our room it looked modern and nice, but after a few minutes it was obvious the cleaning staff were very bad, no high dusting, broken fixtures, such as the bathroom shower door and towel rack and cabinet drawers. Our room did not have a phone book and when we mentioned this, reception said there should be and that they would bring it right up, but never did, even after a second reminder.
The business center was just a single PC for which they charged 10 pesos for 15 minutes. I suppose I could live with that, but the internet speed was so slow I could only read 5 messages in that 15 minutes.
For our taste, the food was of poor quality and expensive. On several occasions our food was not as advertised in the menu, such as Apple Strudel with ice cream that came with no ice cream, or a breakfast of eggs coffee and fruit that came without fruit.
The worst came during breakfast on our last day - the chicken in the baguette sandwich made my wife and I very ill.
Your experience may vary, but ours was not a good one.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel is located near the World Trade Center and public transportation in this area is very accessible. The restaurant offers good food at a reasonable price (but there are also other restaurants right outside the hotel). We would recommand this hotel and we would not hesitate to go back .
