“Can't wait to return!”

I travelled on my own to Mexico City, and although I am an avid traveller, the last advice from friends who knew I was off to Mexico was always 'Oh...do take care'. Yes, that did leave me feeling I would have to travel with all antennae blazing! The lovely warm welcome I recieved at the Red Tree House however, and the reasurrance from Victor at the reception desk that it was safe to walk to the historic centre on my own, and use the Metro and other forms of transport, enabled me to relax and totally enjoy all those fabulous treats that Mexico City offers.
Standards at the Red Tree House are really high. The rooms have obviously been designed by someone who is a traveller - good showers - pristine sheets and oh so comfortable beds - furnishings and art work you'd like in your own home - easy to use safe boxes -a generous supply of drinking water.....For me there was nothing missing. The breakfasts too were a lovely introduction to some delicious Mexican dishes, while providing also plenty of top quality fresh fruit, juices, pastries, bread, tea and good coffee which we all take for granted. The cherry on the top however were the other guests there. Yes other tourists and business travellers around the friendly breakfast table, or in the evening when Craig, one of the generous owners, shared a bottle of wine with whoever gathered by the fire place to mull on the day's activities. This generocity of spirit is what the Red Tree House is all about, and inevitably it rubs off on all the guests, allowing a group of fellow travellers become friends. What pleasant evenings are spent as a consequence in one of the many excellent recommended restaurants nearby. Surely this is is how travel should always be?

Room Tip: I had a beautiful garden room looking out onto the pretty courtyard garden with exotic plants and pa...

This is such an impressive place to stay.
A welcoming and serene environment surrounded by beautiful art and gardens and the kind of hospitality that makes you miss being there after you left.
We loved our stay at Red Tree house and particularly wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mario who suggested a restaurant that gave us one of the most memorable meals we have had in years (Maximo Bistro) and so generously made sure you we got to the restaurant.
We are ruined now for every hotel stay that follows. Insurpassable!

Room Tip: The garden rooms all have outlook of the central courtyard. Perhaps opt for one on the first floor...

The Red Tree House is by far the best hotel experience I have had! The rooms, location, and food were all great, but what really makes this place stand out is the people who work there. Victor and all the young guys were so helpful and truly went out of their way to help us. After leaving Mexico City for a few days and returning to the Red Tree House, it was like coming home to family! Everyone was there to greet us with hugs! Everyday, the guys had suggestions, hand-drawn maps, and great directions for us. When I return to Mexico City I will definitely stay here again. Highly highly recommend this hotel!

Just returned from a long weekend at the Red Tree House and cannot say enough about this great place. We're frequent visitors to Mexico City and have become pretty discerning over the years. This property is impeccably kept, the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood is one of the most charming and "real" in the city. The staff are absolutely fantastic too - genuinely friendly and highly competent, offering help at every turn, and forthcoming with personalized recommendations. Whether this is your first visit to Mexico City or your twentieth, I highly recommend it. Many thanks for a great visit to Victor, Ernesto, Rodrigo - and even Abril, the charming house dog. (One note: if you're very, very sensitive to noise, the hotel - like much of this neighborhood - is under the airport's flight path, so consider bringing a pair of earplugs. Other than that, we had no noise issues, which is a pleasant surprise in Mexico City.)

Room Tip: With the exception of the suites, most of the rooms are the same size, so consider location when pic...

I spent a week in Mexico with family and friends and spent 4 nights at the Red Tree House. The accommodation was lovely in a great neighbourhood. It was easy to walk to very nice restaurants in the evening. The staff were outstanding and could not be more helpful. Victor was a total star and even went out of his way on the tube to take us to our intended destination. The breakfast was excellent and Happy hour in the evening when they offer you a glass of wine or bottle of beer was a great touch? They organised transport for us with good companies. I would totally recommend the Red Tree House to anyone visiting Mexico City.

My husband and I stayed at the Red Tree House for four nights during the first part of our honeymoon and I have been dying to write this review since we left! The Red Tree House was a comfortable, generous, and beautiful home base for us as we explored Condesa and the D.F. Every glowing testimony you'll read is spot on - this is an extraordinary B&B in a lovely and unique neighborhood. We had the opportunity to stay in three different rooms (this was of our own doing and not because we were displeased with any of them!) and each one was comfortable, very clean, and originally and beautifully decorated. The evening happy hours give you a chance to not only talk to other guests, but to talk with the wonderful staff as well. Every staff member at Red Tree House were each endlessly friendly and helpful - we honestly did feel like friends instead of customers. The breakfasts are perfect - light buffet items and a delicious hot dish each day. And the Happy Hours in the evening are not to be missed - mezcal or delicious wine in a gorgeous setting wether you are inside our in the courtyard. We plan to come back to the D.F. again and cannot wait to spend more evenings at the Red Tree House! Sincere thanks for making our stay so wonderful!

Room Tip: We stayed in three rooms - in the main building, Mariposa was our favorite but of all of them, the r...

I can't say enough about this wonderful property in a fantastic neighborhood. From the minute we arrived my partner and I were treated like friends! The staff is warm, professional and most welcoming!

Our patio level garden room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The courtyard just outside the door was most inviting.

Breakfast was awesome. In addition to the standard continental fair, (Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and pan dulce) a tasty home cooked item was served. Delicious every morning.
We were always adressed by name when served. A nice touch.

In the evening, beer and wine are served by the host in the living room or patio. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know some of the other guests. Many of whom were return visitors. Our first evening, a friend stopped by to pick us up for dinner, and he was made to feel most welcome as well.

We arranged for a car to take us to the pyramids at Teotihucan. It was just a reasonable 80.00 US for the trip. The driver (Ricardo) was so nice, that we arranged for him to take us to Xochimilco and Coyoacan the following day. If public transportation works for you, TRTH is just a few blocks from the Metro (3 pesos to anywhere) and just blocks from the Metrobus on Insurgentes Sur.

The Condesa neighborhood has a wonderful energy, varierty of resturants, bars and shops, and IS SAFE at all hours. There is a jogging and walking paths through the middle of Avenida Amsterdam, which circles the neighborhood and nearby Parque Mexico.

The only drawback to our trip is that we did not stay here long enough. We'll be back, and next time we'll plan a week, to just relax, enjoy more of the neighborhood and the fabulous hospitality!

Thank you Victor, Jorge, Craig, Ernesto, Ricardo (and Ricardo), Martin and all of our new friends made at TRTH. You made it so special....Mil Gracias!
