A very charming B&B. Excellent location, terrific breakfasts, attractive rooms and surroundings. No complaints. Our room had no air conditioner but the fan was sufficient. And the staff was very helpful.

My family members and I met in Oaxaca for a week's vacation. They chose Casa Bugambilias based on reviews they had read. Due to passport delays I booked later and had to stay next door for the first two nights because Casa Bugambilias was full. The first hotel I stayed in was adequate, but moving to Casa Bugambilias was like upgrading to luxury. Bugambilias is beautifully appointed with lovely artwork and crafts. There is a very pretty courtyard with a wall of bougainvillea (bugambilias) and tables for sitting or dining. Upstairs is a very attractive common area with couches, television, bookshelf loaded with a variety of books, and a computer for guests to use. They have wifi. Different rooms have different amenities, so if you have special needs, ask for specifics. I stayed upstairs in the Iris room, which has air-conditioning (which I used every night), a modern but small bathroom with shelving and cabinet for toiletries and a blow dryer. The bath towels were large, thick and soft. I didn't see any shampoo or conditioner. The Iris room was beautifully decorated, with two beds, a safe for small valuables, a very small balcony (just large enough to stand on and talk to my brother directly below on the first floor patio), a bed that too hard for my preference, a full pitcher of filtered water with access to more water as needed in the kitchen. There aren't an abundance of electrical outlets, basically one on each side of the bed and one in the bathroom, so if you have multiple gadgets, you might want to bring an adapter that allows you to plug a few devices into one socket. My brother on the first floor said the noise in the early morning was somewhat disturbing, so I was glad I ended up on the second floor, because noise was never a problem. The breakfasts were very nice: coffee, breads, butter and jams, yogurt and granola, two juices to choose from, a small plate of fresh fruit, and then a hot dish which was different every day. The cooking staff was very friendly and service was given with a smile. The room was cleaned during the day and always looked immaculate. Violeta at the front desk was very patient and friendly, providing directions, calling a cab, recommending a restaurant, or helping as needed. The staff really seemed to care about satisfying their guests and providing a good experience. The location of Bugambilias is convenient, with easy walking distance to the main pedestrian strip (Alcala), shops, restaurants, etc. The street is very busy with traffic. All in all, Casa Bugambilias is a lovely, well-run establishment with friendly, warm, accommodating staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or to stay there again if I returned to Oaxaca.

Room Tip: upstairs rooms are probably quieter, some rooms had air conditioning, some rooms had a larger bathro...

The best place I have ever stayed in. The staff and owner were extremely welcoming and friendly. The interior is stylish and homely. Excellent breakfast and great adjoining restaurant. Stay here you will not regret it. I Hope to go back some day.

Just back from a 3-night stay at la casa de las Bugambilias (Room Magnolia). I had checked the webiste carefully, I had read the previous comments on TripAdvisor and ... everything was perfect. Easy to reach from the airport (con un collectivo), nice and helpful staff, very well located to visit the city and other sites, safe, comfortable. I was travelling alone, so I really enjoyed sharing breakfast with the other guests, having a talk with them in the relaxing patio or the uproof terrace. The room was gorgeous, nicely decorated, very clean, quiet and relaxing. I would also recommend lunch or dinner at the restaurant La Olla - only drawback, the noise from the street. So delicious 3 course menu of the day for lunch. A good cup of coffee, at La Antigua, just opposite. Good service for guided tour of the city, f.i or any other visit you would be interested in. Good Internet connection. Definitely a place to recommend. And I will come back with my husband!

This is a beautiful inn staffed by caring, capable staff in beautiful Oaxaca. One of the delights which I didn't catch on to until about day 4 is that each morning the large dining room table is set in a new combination of colors, table linens, glassware, dishes, textiles and flowers. really a work of art. Snap a picture each morning of your stay!

This was my first time there, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything is immaculate, there are fresh flowers around, the beds are super-comfortable, the breakfasts delicious! I always had a combination of the famous Oaxaca hot chocolate with their excellent coffee for a wonderful mocha drink! Staff was also very, very pleasant and accomodating. There is a computer for guests' use on the second floor. I would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Both "Las Bugambilias" and "Las Margaritas" rooms are delightful; the former on...
