“Just OK - Centrally located”
Reviewed 30 June 2013

The hotel is centrally located and that's a good point. But the rooms (we have had one on the 1st floor and changed to another on the 2nd floor) all had NO windows. Air conditioner worked but overall it felt like a cell. On the other hand, it is clear that had there been windows, due to the hotel's central location, street noise would have been a major issue. As it happened, the noise has been coming from numerous birds caged inside the hotel premises that chirped non-stop in the early hours of the day.
The restaurant at the hotel featured well prepared, good food, the breakfast was very good (not included). The French Toast the best we have had anywhere.

Arrived here yesterday to a wonderful surprise. This small hotel has everything you could need. It's no luxury hotel with pools and spas but who's looking for that in Oaxaca. Too much too see to stay in your hotel all day. Mariana at guest services was amazing. She was extremely nice and made our check-in very smooth. The service did not stop there. Everyone was amazing! Magdalena was walking by and saw our bed was not made so she asked if we wanted her to make it. We went downstairs to get some ice and limes to make drinks in our rooms and Rene kindly brought everything up for us. Hotel Parador San Miguel is so cozy and quaint and they do everything they can to ensure your stay is amazing! There is also a restaurant open until 10pm that serves breakfast all day, delicious meals and amazing fresh made natural juices. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Oaxcaca!

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and we really enjoyed it. The hotel facilities are very nice and clean, the internal garden is beautiful, the location is excellent (in the very center, walking distance from the Zocalo), the quality of the service is very high.
Only drawback that you should consider when choosing a location in Oaxaca's center, as this one, is that it can get loud at night, if you're looking for relaxation and you're sensitive to noise just be aware about it.

What a great stay for my first time in Oaxaca!
A charming little hotel in the heart of the wonderful city of Oaxaca.

Service- Super friendly and very helpful. Very accommodating.
Rooms- Super clean and very comfortable. The AC was great when you needed it.
Hotel- Wonderful accomodations, relaxing rooftop terrace, lots of plants and birds to set a super relaxing atmosphere.
Restaurant- Here's what makes this place the hotel to stay at. The food in the restaurant is really, really good. They make authentic Oaxaquenan food. Breakfast was delicious. Fresh pastries, spicy sauces with eggs.. Dinner was amazing as well, the chef makes an incredible and authentic Mole Negro and it's a must try.
Location- A hop, skip and a jump from the town center and other great locations like the pedestrian walking "mall" and the incredible theater.

My only complaint was that either the neighbor or the hotel was doing some hammering early a.m. but only I seemed to hear it. My parents were on another side of the hotel and never heard a thing. Not a big deal but pretty annoying one morning. Probably a 1-time thing.

Oaxaca is great but stayingat the Parador San Miguel made it an amazing stay.

Room Tip: The suite looked amazing.

We stayed here 4 nights and it was our first time in Oaxaca. We have enjoyed our stay here. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is very clean and nice. We loved especially all the different birds in the patio and the food in the restaurant ! Especially the coffee and the breakfast omelette with spinach and mushrooms were delicious. We definitely will go back there ! Also the hotel is very close to the zocalo and the santo domingo convent !

Room Tip: as the hotel is in the center and directly at one of the busy streets Avenida Independencia, you bet...

I almost don't want to write this review for the Parador San Miguel, because if everyone learns how fantastic it is, I may not be able to get a room when I go back.
It's in a great central location. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff are welcoming and warm. The room was a little noisy, but the hotel is so beautiful and comfortable, that this didn't bother us. The food at the restaurant was good too.
I couldn't fault this place.

Room Tip: I suggest requesting a room on the upper level and toward the rear of the building.

We stayed here for two weeks while we took Spanish lessons at Becari. It was the perfect location - close to the zocolo, museums and restaurants, so we walked everywhere. We had a room at the back that was very quiet. The rooms open on to patios or hallways. The ones in the front are not as quiet. There are caged birds on the patios that sing all day long. I liked hearing them; they are not parrots that screech. We had a suite because it had a table that both of us could use for our lessons. It had lots of room and was very comfortable and clean. The maids brought fresh flowers. Wi-fi is everywhere. The restaurant is moderately-priced and has good food. We ate there much of the time because by the end of the day we were too exhausted to go out anywhere. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. We'd stay here again if we were to come back to Oaxaca.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are quieter. There is no elevator, but always someone to carry your luggage.
