My family just got back from an incredible trip to Oaxaca, followed by Huatulco. My kids are 5 and 7, and we joined my parents in Oaxaca for a big birthday celebration. Hotel Casa de Siete Balcones was a fantastic choice for our stay. First, the hotel is small, just 7 rooms, and we felt like we were pretty much the only people there since we took up 3 of those rooms. The staff was AMAZING and so accommodating in every way possible. Even before we got to Oaxaca they were helping me with researching flights to Huatulco, among other things. They are genuinely caring, special people and wanted us to enjoy every minute of our trip. Just as an aside, the kids' favorite outings were Monte Alban, El Tule tree and the Zoo. You can do El Tule and the Zoo in one trip because you can't really spend too much time at Tule tree but it's definitely worth seeing! If taking a taxi, arrange for your taxi to wait for you at the zoo because there were no taxis anywhere in sight! I hope this is helpful!

During the Guelaguetza my wife and I went to Oaxaca and decided to stay in the Casa de Siete Balcones. We can say that for this event this is the place to stay, specially the rooms that have a balcony facing the Andador Turístico. Since this street is the way the Calenda goes to downtown, you only need to walk a few steps to get within the crowd, but if you don´t like the conglomerations, you only need to step out to your balcony and enjoy the show!

Also for nightlife, restaurants, bars and mercados/tianguis, you can get them all in a walk in distance.

The only part that we didn´t like so much was the bathroom, that´s one thing that they can improve in a more in-deep cleaning.

Room Tip: The ones that have a balcony facing the Andador.

There are many positive things to say about this place, but the hospitality and location are what really set this hotel apart from others.

My sister and I stayed here just before All Saints Day; an incredible time to soak up the very special atmosphere of the city. Our room had the perfect vantage point for the various parades: a balcony overlooking the main pedestrian route, which runs from the zocalo to the Santa Domingo church. The room itself was spacious, the beds very comfy, the noise of the street blocked off by double-glazed sliding doors.

We received a hearty welcome and were looked after throughout. Every member of staff deserves a mention; no question was too much trouble to answer or fulfill. Indeed, there was an immense feeling of security and serenity to the hotel, even being so centrally located.

For what we paid (around 80 EUR a night), there'd be no question of staying anywhere else should we be fortunate enough to return to Oaxaca.

Indeed this is a wonderful small and intimate hotel. It has a central location, that is, within walking to all major centers of interest. The hotel does its utmost to make your stay hassle free. The staff cannot do enough for you. They also arrange, at affordable prices, private tours of the area in and around Oaxaca. Do not miss out walking through the many markets as well as visiting every every shop in the area. What impressed us was the hassle free shopping. Everyone wants to help you and even if you do not buy.....there is a smile and a truly warm greeting to have a good day and come back soon.

Room Tip: There are two separate bedrooms....across a small hall from each other....there is an entry door int...

We enjoyed this boutique hotel, immensely. It's located in the heart of the finest historical area, which was so convenient to everything. Numerous restaurants were within a few blocks, as was the zocolo...the main plaza. We loved shopping in all the surrounding blocks...it was just perfect. AND the historical churches were only within a few blocks as well.

We travel a lot and the rooms were perfect...great comfortable beds with beautiful white linens and comforters. Everything was spotlessly clean. The shower had super good water pressure. The view was superb...each room had it's own private little balcony and you could see the view of the streets and mountains.

Continental breakfast was good with 3 fresh fruits drizzled with yogurt, museli, and honey. Coffee, Tea and fresh orange juice were included. Fried or scrambled eggs were an extra little bit.

The main greeters at the hotel were incredibly helpful and so warm and hospitable. They attended to our every question and helped with directions. Such a delightful place that made our adventure and experience of Oaxaca even more special.

Room Tip: Go onto their website and choose from the 7. We stayed in 2 different rooms during the week...bot...

We stayed four days in Casa de Siete Balcones and we loved the hotel (a charming colonial house).

Mrs. Elsa was very kind and made our stay very very nice (she gave a lot of informations about restaurants and places to visit). All the staff were too friendly.

The room (Suite Belavista) is very large and was always very clean and quite. The balconies has a great view of Oaxaca streets. The hotel is in the heart of the historic center and it is very close to Zócalo and all other attractions.

Oaxaca is an amazing city.

Room Tip: Don't worry, be happy!

This hotel is worth a visit. The rooms are spacious and clean and the location is excellent. We enjoyed our stay and spent two lovely nights in Oaxaca. The hotel is walking distance to churches and museums and to the Plaza where the nightlife begins. The market is also walking distance and all restaurants are open till late so one can enjoy the ambience of Oaxaca at night.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay overnight in Oaxaca.

Room Tip: The rooms are all in the inner court so there is little noise.
