We loved the location in this quiet spot near the arquitos, an open square and two blocks away from a park. The hosts, Mikel and Thomas couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and bath were fine for a 10 day stay. The apartment was very nicely appointed with local art. There was no outdoor patio or common living area. Mikel and Thomas own 3 dogs which we heard often at inappropriate times. The walls are thin and they might find this a concern for the comfort of future guests.
This is a thoughtfully and tastefully decorated apartment. The addition of special touches, such as the water filtration system and the provision of the best coffee in town, makes this a standout rental worth the price. Solid kitchen with good quality cookware and tableware almost too nice to eat on. Host goes the extra distance, to a degree most do not. Best possible location. Highly recommended.
This was our first visit to Oaxaca and we were nervous booking online. Our apprehensions were unfounded. Caring, attentive hosts with a genuine concern for both our well being and enjoyment while in the city. All amenities are provided and the location is ideal for superb food and bargain seekers.
Casa Benito is the ideal place to stay in the city of Oaxaca! From the house it is a two block walk until you are on a walking only street which takes you right through the Centro. The apartment is completely private and even includes a parking spot which would otherwise have been extremely hard to find! The kitchen is fully stocked even including spices, oils, coffee, tea and more-there was even a fruit bowl! Miguel coordinated the cleaning with us which was wonderful. We would highly recommend Casa Benito if you are staying in Oaxaca.

This. Place. Is. Amazing. First - Miguel is an incredible host. We didn't arrive until 11 PM (because of a long drive from Puerto Escondido) and promptly got lost. Miguel and Thomas came to meet us where we were, even though it was Thomas' birthday. They welcomed us to the place with 'welcome mezcal' and a fruit bowl, gave us all sorts of information about the best coffee shops, museums and mezcal places in town, and even made reservations for us on New Years when we had failed to do so ourselves. Second - the place itself is great. It's in an amazing location - three blocks from all of the action - but is itself situated on a quiet plaza. And the decor is modern, clean, and functional, yet with a charming Oaxacan touch. This includes plenty of local pottery and Miguels own photographs of Oaxaca that decorate the apartment. Simply put, we could not have been more thrilled with our visit. Stay here if you ever have the chance. Miguel's hospitality is reason enough to visit Oaxaca on its own.
