One of our favorite meals in Oaxaca! Staff was incredibly helpful and caring. The meals were authentic and delicious. I had the mole amarillo and it was outstanding - a stew like meal served in a big bowl with 2 meaty pork vertebrae, string beans, and squash. Amazing!

One of the best comidascorridas ever. Extremely high quality local Oaxaquena moles, savory soups, todo. The family who owns the restaurant are so sweet and care deeply for their customers to have a wonderful dining experience. This restaurant is open, clean and one wall you can see the adjacent parking garage, which is not a problem. Very economical, service was attentive. We are going back!! Highly recommend.

Homey ambiance, serving just typical Oaxacan food which Oaxacans eat. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that it's indeed filled with Oaxacans on weekends in particular.

My husband and I first discovered this restaurant around 30 years ago. It has been serving locals and visitors since 1948. Carmen, the owner oversees her cooks, many who have been with her for over 30 years.
The food is simply presented, but complex in its flavors. The sopa de guias is a country style dish made with squash vines. They serve the full range of delicious moles. The verde and amarillo are my favorites.
We ate several meals at La Coronita trying the different dishes and loved them all. Carmen was even kind enough to share information about the ingredients, making for a warm and personal experience.
We can't wait to get back to Oaxaca and La Coronita.
