This is a very nice place with a good location in a beautiful town, helpful staff, an impressive interior courtyard, some really great outdoor spaces and very clean comfy rooms. Everything about it was really great, no complaints whatsoever except that I didn't really come away from the place feeling as though I had experienced anything very special. As far as I could tell, this seemed to be one of the more upmarket places in town but it didn't really feel like we had splurged, were decadently pampered or had stayed in an unforgettable place. Just a nice hotel for a few nights and then on to the next place.

If you are looking for a very enjoyable stay at San Cristobal City, combining confort, luxury and excellent service and food, you should stay at this family owned hotel.
Cozy rooms, adecuate size, to stay confortable with your family.
And the restaurant, is a MUST GO, if you are staying in San Cristobal. Excellent choices combining local flavors with modern cuisine, either for breakfast , lunch time or dinner.
We had a very enjoyable time at TIerra y Cielo Hotel and we are looking forward to come back very soon.

I expected a much more for the price. Probably the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in for almost $100 US. All but 2 of the 14 rooms face the 2 of the busiest streets in SCDLC. Across the street is a popular (spelled noisy) nightclub. The housekeeper's stations are virtually right outside of every door, and the racket of their comings and goings are unavoidable. Our room had a connecting (locked, but thin) door to the adjacent room. Good for voyeurism, but not for sleeping. All rooms are positioned around a small, central courtyard that amplifies every conversation, belch, door slam, or footstep. The upper rooms are accessed by wooden stairs/walkways that only increase the noise. The rooms are stuffy since the windows can't be opened; though you might not want to due to the street noise. Smallish for the price, as well. Housekeeping left a fair share of long hairs on the floor after mopping; definitely not mine or my wife's.
That's the bad. The good is they have a decent breakfast buffet. The staff is helpful, but they tend to hover, waiting to do something deserving of a tip. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is new. The location is OK, but no better than any of the other hotels in town.
In sum, this hotel has a poor design with too many un-fixable defects to be worthy of its dollar/euro adjusted price. Would I stay there again? At $40, yes. At $95, no way.
