“Only if you got low budget”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2012

We stayed few nights last july in Hotel Posada Tepeyac. Our experience there wasn't really good. First of all when we arrived after 9 hour trip, very poor welcome; in addition they did not want to give us a room whereas we had a confirmed reservation (!) we had to show them our booking. Then, the room (on the top floor, was very dark, no space to move, no chair, no place to put clothes. The sink is inside the room not in the bathroom and the worse was the bed (we had to put 3 blankets to sleep on in order not to feel the metal springs !). At night, it was very noisy, people screaming and talking up to 01 am and then from 04 am ! Plus live music bar downstairs and the restaurant music and kitchen noises ! If you look for a hotel to sleep, pass your way. The only psitive thing xwas the location, but San Cristobal is small and 80% of the hotels are at maximum 7 min walk from the center.

We stumbled upon this hotel as we looked for a place to stay. Located on one of the main streets, it's located close to restaurants, attractions, bars, and near the main plaza. The clean rooms include hot water, cable tv and wifi.

The restaurant downstairs seems to have a constant flow of clients yet the hotel remains quiet throughout the night.

THis is our second year staying at the hotel. We came across the hotel two years ago from a taxi driver at the bus station. Not always the best but this one turned out great. The rooms are small, not very modern but clean and quiet. We had hot water 24/7, tv, clean sheets and towels daily. It is three blocks form the Zocolo, near all the restaurants. We went to school to learn spanish so this hotel was a good place to practice since no one who worked there speaks English. I was traveling with my sister so we ended getting separate rooms, each with two beds. This way we could spread our school work over the other bed. Only $20 a night or 250 peso

We had a great stay in this hotel. Our room was big with two double beds, which were very comfortable and had plenty of blankets on them! The bathroom was clean with hot water and we were provided with towels everyday.

Our room was on the ground floor and opened into the central courtyard, so it didn't have much natural light, but there were other rooms on the upper floors which were much lighter (but more expensive).

The hotel had one computer with free internet, not very high speed but fine for checking emails!

We stayed in low season and found the hotel really peaceful. The location was great and within easy walking distance of everything you need in the town.

Hotel is about 1 min from main plaza.
We paid 300pesos for big room, very warm (wich is very importent when outside is below 20 C), two dubl. beds, tv, and hot water (but pressure was not so strong), internet for free (mexican speed) and very, very nice stuff. It is just 50m next to Casa Margarita wich offers the same conditions (smaller rooms) but more expensive. There is no reason to pay more.
in the same building are: jamaican reaage shop (music and tshirts etc) and italian pizzeria (probably the warm air comes from the restaurant).

  • Disliked — water pressure (but it was hot)
