We stayed at the hotel in May 2013. The hotel is clean and quiet, but nothing special. The window of our room overlooked the patio and it was calm, but to tell the truth the hotel was half empty.
A real advantage – it’s located next to the city center.
After exiting the hotel you should turn to the left and in a few minutes you'll find yourself on the main plaza.
My advice - you can have breakfast in a nice crepe café in a few steps on the opposite side of the street.

Stayed 4 nights, room seemed recently updated, huge bathroom, great rooftop terrace overlooking the city, good location with a 6 minute walk to the main plaza (Zocalo), restaurant has good coffee but the smallest Ceasar salad I've ever seen, mostly ate out at various restaurants around downtown which are plentiful. Rained every afternoon around 3:30 - 4:00 for a while or just drizzled.

If I came in a different season, the experience might be different. The hotel is not bad in terms of location, cleanness, breakfast and service. But the last thing you would expect from a four-star hotel is to sleep on a wet bed. The first night was miserable. First, there was a plastic wrap in between the bed sheet and mattress. What is it, to protect the precious mattress without considering the human comfort? Then, I noticed both sheets were so damp that it was not possible to sleep in between them. And it was getting very cold due to the humidity level in the room. The room also has a strong mold odor since it doesn't have a window. That was a sleepless and frustrating night. The next day, I wrote a note to the maid asking for dry sheets, and still got the same damp stuff. Then I brought the sheets to the front desk. They eventually offered me a heater. It took quite some time to dry the sheets with a heater to a state that one can finally sleep on it.

With this kind of price level, I have stayed in many nice hotels in Mexico. But this one, I will definitely not recommend. Hope the management can understand that even in the raining season, sleeping on a dry bed is still one of the basic needs of the hotel guests.

Room Tip: Take off the plastic protection on the mattress before sleeping.

It's hard to explain this. While the stay wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. In other words, if returning to San Cristobal, I'd likely look for another place.

First off it was a bit hard to park so we could register and we could not find any signs for the hotels parking. We did find street parking 1/2 a block down. No biggie. Check-in was hectic. The employee was overwhelmed by us and 2 different visitors asking for directions. Literally overwhelmed. We finally got a room on the first floor. I was a bit dark, but overall okay. No lotion was provided in the bathroom items.

First night in several guests were extremely loud, yelling, talking loudly, slamming doors, etc. We call the front desk and it sort of stopped a short while later. The next early morning, they were at it again with no intervention from the staff.

That same day we found out that there is a parking lot around the back and we had to ask for the gate to be opened, drive around, and then park. It worked, except it got old having to have my daughter run to ask for the gate to be opened while I drove around the block.

Upon our complaint's, we asked to me moved to a quieter room, which the staff did do promptly, but not without a slight attitude. We did get a nicer room though with a view of the church across the street.

Second night several men were hanging in the terrace having a few beers, talking loudly late into the night. The staff did nothing about asking them to keep it down.

The rest of the stay was okay. The staff didn't seem to know much about tours or museums, etc, and they frequently seemed overwhelmed, even when we were the only ones asking for directions or suggestions on sights.

While not a bad place to stay, there are likely slightly better places out there.

Room Tip: ask for a room with street view. A bit noisy during the day, but way better than the room facing a...

Convenient location 2 blocks from Zocalo on a straight road. Quiet during the evening I stayed, good nights sleep but had no hot water during the stay. Nice bar area, friendly staff. Large rooms with nice bathroom. Retains old styles with modern bathrooms

We stayed there for 7 nights, the hotel is well located , clean , staff was very helpful and friendly.

We ate at the restaurant the first night we got there, out of a 10 rating i would say 4, then the next morning we went for breakfast, the coffe was bad, toast was warmed bread, fruit was dry from being on plate to long and eggs were very cold, there was only 3 tables occupied at this time, next morning had pancakes, cold and all the rest the same, third day had the yogurt and cereal, yogurt was warm and cereal was corn flakes, the rest was the same bad coffee ect. Avoid the restaurant at all costs, even though we paid for the breakfast with out room we ate at other places.

They would do better if they closed restaurant as that is the only reason i would not stay there again, we go to San Cristobal twice per year.

Sad when nice hotel can not find a decent cook, by the way we had no complaints about the restaurant. service as they were very attentive just plain bad food

Room Tip: Try to book with no meals included as we did enjoy the hotel and there staff
