We just spent three pleasant days in San Cristobal and the Bo, and could certainly recommend it. the property is a complete remodel of a former colonial style hotel, and it's now an eclectic mix of heavy wood beams, modern furnishings and colonial and regional touches. Probably more expensive than any other hotel in town, but you receive fair value for the money. The rooms are not huge, but at least the "luxury" rooms are ample enough, with a large modern bathroom. bedding, towels etc. are certainly top quality. Breakfast was good, we didn't have time to eat later in the day although the menu looked creative and interesting enough. We found the staff to be super attentive at all times, very eager to please. the beautiful garden area inside the hotel would be delightful for spending some leisure time, except right now the weather was rather cool.

San Cristobal is a great place to visit, very clean, safe, with a main pedestrian street filled with Cafes, restaurants and shops. There are huge numbers of people selling stuff on the street, but they are not aggressive. Having seen all the shops, and having visited several villages where local handicrafts are made, we can highly recommend the Casa de la Artesania (also called Casa Chiapas), along the pedestrian street, which is apparently funded by a government agency. Their prices are very fair, and you can be sure you are buying authentic local goods, not always the case with street vendors. they have an especially good selection of textiles, ceramics, and of course, coffee and chocolate from Chiapas.

We tried several local restaurants, but can't say that any of them inspired us. The food wasn't bad, and service was generally good, but nothing special. Perhaps we just missed the good ones. In terms of local sightseeing, a boat trip from the Cahuare pier along the Canon del Sumidero is spectacular, beneath the Grand Canyon of Chiapas, with lots of wildlife all around you. A taxi driver can take you to the pier, hang around for a couple of hours while you take the boat ride, and then take you over to the town square at Chiapa Corzo, just a few minutes away, where you can see a very interesting and huge fountain and church dating from around 1520. The taxi service shouldn't be more than $50-- for the half day, and the boat trip is less than $20 per person. The other unique place to visit nearby is the church at San Pedro Chamula, filled with thousands of candles, no pews, and hundreds of local people seated on pine boughs praying. Don't even think of taking photos, it's not allowed!

The mountain scenery around San Cristobal and the unspoiled colonial look make this a great destination and well worth the drive or flight down!

Dear Guest, just loved your review anf thank you for the time on writing about us and about the destination. San Cristobal de Las Casas is a Unique place that everyone should know! Our design was inspired on the componets of the history of San Cristobal with a total modern flare but respecting the roots, one of the elements we love the most about our property is our distinctive look & feel along with our service and passion about the hospitality industry.

Welcome back!

This is a beautiful hotel, the common areas are so nice! Rooms are spacious, the shower was amazing and linens soooo soft that I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. The staff was really nice and helpful.

Location is great and the food so good, don't forget to try the huevos con chorizo for breakfast.

A really amazing stay!

A wonderful hotel, we absolutely loved our stay there. Hotel Bo offers a unique decor that helps you disconnect and relax. The rooms are very nice, with top quality litery and linens, as well as a ceiling-mounted shower-head that makes it a joy to take a relaxing shower after a day exploring Chiapas. Every detail is well thought out and contributes to the beauty of the place, creating a unique atmosphere, where you find the spirit of San Cristobal de Las Casas mixed with a very contemporary vibe. The restaurant offers exquisite mexican food (excellent Chile Relleno and Mole) and an interesting wine selection, with a very attentive service, and an excellent quality for very reasonable price, hence one can eat often at the hotel without breaking the bank. The garden is gorgeous. A wonderful place to spend a few nights.

Its a very expensive hotel and nice, however I forgot my tablet in the room after checkout (my bad) and called after the hotel! I DIDN'T RECOVERED MY TABLET!!!!
They couldn't tell if another guest or visitor stole it, or there own staff.
