We had a very nice stay here - the hotel is new and you can enjoy of its newness and simplicity as well. Our room (Fe) was spacious, simply furnished but with everything you needed, and we liked that it was on the first floor, with a bit more of privacy. From our window we could see the rooftop that gave view on the sky, very nice. The pictures you find on the website are quite accurate, so you can have a look at them to get an idea of the rooms.
Breakfast can maybe be improved a little bit since the buffet looks a bit poor, but the staff is ready to cook for you either pancakes or waffles on demand - maybe they cold also offer eggs?!
But the real gem here is the staff, and this is definitely one of the most important things, especially when you travel to a place where English is often non spoken.
Esteban and his staff were truly kind, supportive and helpful, ready to help us as they could all the time.
Esteban helped us arrange our travel from Tuxtla Gutierrez to San Cristobal, our trip to the Canion del Sumidero and our bus to the next destination, that was Palenque.
And always with a smile.
All in all, I would not ask much more from a hotel, and though some might say this hotel is "plain" (as I read in some reviews) I just believe it is simple and it offers all what you would need for a stay here. Yes, there's no pool or no spa and not that many amenities you could find in other places, but it felt to me it was perfectly fitting in with San Cristobal, and personally I would not look for a pool here...
I would definitely recommend to consider Casa Selah as a very good option if you're going to San Cristobal
And last but not least, I found it also convenient, just few blocks away from the city centre and quiet enough.
