Here for week? Skip the restauarants for tourists, make the short trip to Chemuyil to have great pizza and a more authentic experience. Do like we did and take a stroll around this charming village after a delicious dinner before you drive back to your room. Take in the flowers, the cute dogs running in the streets and the Mexicans living their lives and enjoying their neighborhood as they do every evening.
The restaurant has an open feel, with open shutters and front doors and fans twirling above your head. You get to look out over a cute and active courtyard while you eat. A statue of Jesus stands guard at the bar, flowers and a burning candle before him as sexy music videos play on the screen over his right shoulder. That's okay - I'm sure Jesus would have done a shot with me if he were actually there.
The pizza is very good. Toppings loaded on a crisp and very thin crust with cheese melted on top of everything (a tough thing to pull off with pizza), it's yummy. A small pie (stuffed two of us) and a couple of beers ran $150, about 12 bucks US. The service was genuine and very friendly.
