“Nice place, "typical Caribbean"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2014

I really liked this place, even if it was a bit crowded. It has a beautiful soft sanded beach and this typical Caribbean sun protection with the thatched roofs. The ocean is ok but not as beautiful as further east or southeast. If looking for silence this beach might not be the best choice since often there are families and is has not that much space, at least not within the entrance area. This beach is closest to the town of Cancun.

“Nice but a little rocky”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2013

It is a beach completely handle by the Government, the parking lot is a little small but you can always get there by bus, if you live here like me, it takes a very short time to get there since is at the beginning of the hotel zone (before the km. 3 I think), the beach is not very wide and to get into the water is a little rocky, however, it is a good beach if you have kids because there's no waves so they can enjoy it. There's some palapas that gives you a very good shade, but if it's Sunday you need to get there early because there's a lot of local visitors, during the week not so many. You can take a cooler with water, can sodas, maybe some snacks and enjoy a few hours sun bathing, just don't take glass bottles, they're forbidden -which makes sense so you don't walk on any piece of broken glass and hurt yourself-

“Nice little beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2012

The waters there are calm indeed!

What I liked is that they had a couple of palapa-style eating areas and some benches available - and all for free, normally you have to pay for the use of any kind of little conveniences on a beach.

It's usually empty on week days, but during weekend it's popular with local families: and then they bring everybody, from 80-year 0ld grandma to a family dog :0).
