In the middle of the hotel zone, this arquaeological center it's quite amazing. It's close to the city, you'll be able to discover a part of the prehispanic history without spending too much time or money!!!

Located ACTUALLY at KM 18 on the Blvd. The bus stop is directly in front, just be ready to push the button on the bus as they turn the corner. We got off too early, had to walk about 2 kms. Bring water, it is hot. They have restrooms. $4 US to enter per person. No signage on the ruins and no guides. It is very interesting. The real attraction is all the iguanas though. They are everywhere. Bring bananas and grapes to feed them.

This is a great stop to make if you would like to see some ruins, but don't have time to travel to Chichen Itza or Tulum. Very interesting and fun to see such old structures still standing in such great shape!! Wild iguanas are EVERYWHERE!! They will come right up to you and make for great photos! We saw hundreds sunning themselves on the ruins and running around on the grassy area. Very fun! Got some great pics!

$4 American to get in and $2 American round trip on the local Cancun bus and we were only away from our resort for 2 hours. An opportunity to see some ruins without losing a whole day of resort time and plus spending $100+. Well worth a visit.

This small ruin site is self guided, so it's a little hard to determine what buildings you are looking at. Small enough to review in an hour and nestled in the midst of all the hotels. It gives you an idea of Mayan architecture without the 3 hour drive to Chichen Itza. Of course, being so small, it has none of the grandeur of Chichen Itza.
