a small but interesting ruin site in the heart of hotel zone. the ruin grounds are full of iguanas , so really cool place to watch them. the juxtaposition of ancient ruins with the highrise miodern hotels in the background is interesting

Very informative really liked that signs were in both english and spanish. Taking a public bus there was easy and cheap except we got soaking wet while waiting for the bus. Suggest booking this with BD

We stayed at the gr solaris so this was only a 2 minute walk from pur hotel. Only 4$ to get in and well worth it. The day we went it was a light rain which mighy be why we were literally the only ones there. It was so quite and peaceful. So many iguanas there. But dont be scared they will go in there holes when you approach. The ruins are great because you can climb on them and really feel what it must have been like in that era. This sight is ao easy to see. And only takes about an hour. So if you cant leave the zona hotelera or are to lazy to leave the beach. This is an easy ruin to see.

Go early when they first open up, take some fruit from the resort for the iguanas they are allover the ruins. It will take about an hour or so to walk thru but you can climb on them and use them just like they were used years ago. They are restoring parts of it so be respectful when climbing and you will have a great time. If you stand on the top of the ruins you can imagine what it was like years ago when it was in its prime. A really nice time for $4 each. Take water did not see concession.

If you can't make it to Tulum or Chichen Itza from Cancun, you may want to visit El Rey to get a taste of the Mayan civilization. This is right along Kukulkan Boulevard, and easily accessible from the hotel zone.

Watch out for the Iguanas - the place swarms with them!
