I was given an upgrade so my review is based on club rooms. Room good size with very good selection of clean towels. AC worked really well. Bed very big and comfortable. LCD TV with descent channell selection but more suitable for spanish speakers. The free wifi worked really well and was high speed. No issues with streaming videos! The restaurant dinner was not only very tasty and good but also cheaper than reastaurants outside.

Now the beach club the take you is the best sandy beach i have ever seen. Free towel are also provided. If you order drinks then the prices of mandala bar is abit high. But you do not have to order!

Check in and checkout was fast and efficient

I wanted a hotel in downtown Cancun, clean, with air conditioning, at a good rate...this was it.
The air conditioning worked very well. The room was very clean, and surprisingly, well decorated.
I appreciated the coffee maker in the room, with good coffee that was replenished daily.
Room was great, actually better than I had expected. Did have some issues getting the phone connected.
Now, the hotel is a bit of a hike from Av Tulum, unless I missed a shortcut or something... but taxis are cheap and plentiful. There is a taxi stand at the hotel, but if you walk a block or so, and hail one on the street, it is less money. The hotel seems to be set in an area by itself...there are no restaurants in the immediate area. I ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and dinner one night. Breakfast was ok, but I wouldn't recommend dinner. It wasn't that good, and the waitstaff seemed upset that I didn't order a large entrée...
It helps if you speak some Spanish here...
I don't think I could have found a room of this quality, at this price closer to Av Tulum.
I would probably stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool

Being Cancun a popular destination, crowds of tourists drive you crazy.

This hotel is located in a residential area.

Far enough from the crowded areas, but close enough to fabulous restaurants, entertainment, shopping centers, and... gorgeous turquoise beaches, unique in the world!

The hotel was Ok - we stayed here for 3 nights prior to a G Adventures Tour. Nice buffet breakfast with local shops and a McDonalds nearby but the hotel is in need of a bit of TLC. Reception slow & not everybody speaks english but a great shuttle service to Coco bongo beach & the Mandalay Beach Resort - beach is fantastic.

If you arent looking to stay in the hotel zone in Cancun this is a good hotel. That being said it is kind of far from the action. The hotel does provide a shuttle to the beach club everyday free of charge. They also offer free wifi and a decent buffet breakfast (not included) I enjoyed my two night stay here. The rooms are clean and the staff is pleasant.

This hotel was great. If we don't stay here again, it will only be because it wasn't on the beach. They do have a free shuttle to the beach a few times a day and pick up. You are dropped off at a public beach near Coco Bongo. The beach they take you to is AMAZING.

The hotel - Tile floors, which makes sense because of the sand/water. The pool is cool but chilly, we were there in March and it was not heated. I liked it, but I like cold water. My husband couldn't do it. The water and ice are both fine. I know what everyone says about Mexico, but not in Cancun. We had lettuce, fruit, water, ice, iced drinks, salsa, tomatoes, everything you can think of that they tell you not to eat in Mexico all over Cancun. I didn't get sick once (except heat stroke). The bar has good drinks for a good price. The bathroom had a nice tub. The rooms have balconies with a few plastic chairs. The TV has some English stations like cartoon network and ID discovery, plus a few more. The Spanish stations were pretty good too. My only complaint was that the beds were hard. Like really hard. Much harder than I am used to. I like semi-firm but this was like ultra-extra-super firm. The AC is fair in the room, but you can't ever really get it chilly. It was comfortable though.

Most of the people in the hotel were from Mexico, South America, or Central America. There was a few Germans, and from what I saw, we were the only ones from the US.

Several of the staff speak no English. They are helpful though and you can get a lot done knowing very little Spanish. Mario who works there knows a lot of English and was a huge help.

Room service is great. Domino's delivers (better than US dominos). Oxxo is the convenient mart and has water, soda, snacks, some hot food at a great price. If you are walking out of the hotel main entrance go to the right. It's like a half mile maybe. Right before Oxxo is a place that has great pastries and is a sit in restaurant. Food is pretty good there, and great price. We got pastries for most of our breakfasts, juice at Oxxo, and snacks. They sell H2Go at Oxxo which is huge bottled water. They have beer too.

Taxi's are always waiting across the street, but you can reserve one ahead of time too. Prices aren't too bad. Generally cost us like $11 to $30 to go to hotel zone in a private taxi, depending on the driver and what part. Set your price BEFORE getting into the cab.

Room Tip: All the rooms were nice, but the area goes through a lot of construction around the hotel so dependi...

The hotel is located in the center (outside of the hotel zone). Very clean and has a decent breakfast buffet. Big pool. Not much atmosphere, friendly staff. About 2 blocks away from the ADO bus terminal.

Room Tip: Room towards swimming pool.
