“Cancun 'budget ' hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2012

The staff at this hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. The suites are a bit old fashined but spacious, clean and contain everything you need. For the Cancun Hotel zone area this accomodation would be considered budget. There is a lovely garden and pool area overlooking the lagoon.

The situation of this hotel is a distance from the beach; which is hard to access as there are wall - to - wall international hotels and a dual carriageway road in between. There is not much choice of restaurant locally as most people are on inclusive packages, but the local takeaways are good, although next to very busy road.
Having spent a month travelling throughout Mexico Cancun was a bit of a disappointment but this hotel is a good choice to dip in and out of the mayhem!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the lagoon

This hotel is a so close to all the action yet has totally tranquil atmosphere. The location is very close to Poc ta Pok golf course, within walking distance of the beach and nightclubs. The location on the Lagoon offers an
amazing view of the Hotel Zone both day and night. Our room was the Jr. Suite with a small kitchen, dining bar and table plus a couch. The bedroom faced the ocean with large windows for a great view. The grassy lawns filled with tropical plantings and palms is a great place to relax out of the sun. The pool is also facing the lagoon with wonderful loungers for sun bathing.
The on site restaurant for breakfast and lunch is sunken and the view is over the pool, very unusual and we enjoyed a great breakfast. The overall feeling was relaxing and very quiet. We also totally enjoyed the staff who were always smiling and friendly. The owner was also present and sat and visited with us for some time. The hotel is small and personal, that makes for secure and comfortable stay. Everyone spoke English which is also helpful.
I would suggest this hotel for families since you can do light cooking and keep snacks and beverages in the nice little kitchen. This is also a perfect place if you want to be close to the beach but not in a giant hotel.
I really liked the intimate feeling Sina Suites provides.

Room Tip: Ask for a Jr. Suite to face the Lagoon and have a great view

The hotel is located in a very quite and nice area in front of the Lagoon which gives a very nice view of the Zona Hotelera in the day and in the night.
The staff was very very nice, friendly and honest, they even saved my cellphone when I accidentally dropped it in the Loby of the Hotel before going to the Chichen Itzan, and also they were very patient and understandable when I had trouble with my credit card at the moment to pay.
It is like 10 minutes walking away from the beach, 7 Minutes walking away form the bus stop.
It is not very fancy though but it is very good for the price, becuase it has a pool, hot water and wifi in the public areas of the hotel.

Nice quiet and cheep location just outside the hectic hotel zone, 15 min walk or 3 minutes bus. The staff is very friendly and when we hadn't had a chance to change money from USD to Pesos they quicly lent us 17 peso to the bus so we could get to downtown and change.
Also we arrived pretty late and were starving, the staff arranged a Domino bring out :)
The room we had were huge, nice and clean with a beautiful look from the terrace over the lagoon.

The staff could not have been nicer. The whole place felt quiet and secluded in the midst of the madness of Cancun. The rooms and furnishings were a little outdated, but clean. The pool area was calm and relaxing. Nothing fancy, but perfectly acceptable. I would not hesitate to stay there again. There was a beautiful view of the bay as well.

Room Tip: The suites are definitely worth the extra money. They are more like an apartment, with a separate li...

I was very happy with the location of the hotel and it was very quiet so we could enjoy the swimming pool on our own. The swimming pool is children friendly as the deepest is 1m20. The hotel is about 10-15mins walk from one of the big activity centre of the Zona Hotellera and a very nice beach, and 10mins drive from the city centre. We had continental breakfast included in the price (4 piece of toast/butter/jam, coffee/tea/orange juice). The room was not as spacious as the picture would suggest but it was fine for us (2 double beds and a bathroom with a shower) it was clean, fridge and tv were included. The staff was friendly. The airconditioning was a bit loud.
My only deception was that on the day we had advised we would be off all day due to trip to Chichen Itza, some money was stolen from our room (40USD each). I know it was our mistake to leave money in the room as there , but at the time we had had a long day and the trip tio chichen itza was an early departure so we just decided stupidly (and feeling the hotel was safe) not to take all our cash with us for once and left it, hidden, in the room. So the fact some was stolen (mine was in my diary, under my clothes and other books, in a draw, my friend's was in a purse, hidden in clothes, in the luggage, in the cupboard - not exactly apparent nor obvious to be found) on the only day we had advised reception we were going all day is a bit dubious. When we talked to the manager the next morning, he claimed that it never happened before in the 30years or so he has managed the hotel, and that although he was responsible for the safety of our belongings in our room, this did not include cash, which should have been put in the deposit box. Which I understand. He then said we would have to make a police report, which i was very happy to do, since although our bad for leaving money in the room, still some of the staff took time to rummage our room to find the money, this should be reported to the police. We waited for the police and were offered a lunch, and after lunch were told that the person who did our room was off on that day and that would need to wait til the next day. I lost half a day of a very short holiday for that police report and we were leaving the next day. I mentioned that we needed to find the bus station to get to the airport the next day as we were now short in money (another issue my UK card never worked there) and the manager said he would drive us to the airport. the next day we had scheduled enough time to allow for a police report but when we asked about it they said that we had been offered a lunch and the drive to the airport, although it was never mentioned this was to "forget" about the police report so far . I was not pleased as I learnt afterwards the reception forced my friend as she gave the key back to sign some documents stating we were offered the lunch and the drive to not report it to the police when the cab arrived.

Having booked relatively last minute I was AMAZED by the quality of the fairly budget-priced Sina Suites: the rooms were enormous and the beds comfy, the staff were immensely courteous and helpful and the facilities of pool, restaraunt/conference room and little pool-side bar were all you could really ask for!

The location is just a 15 min leisurely stroll (3min bus journey) to the big party area of Cancun or in the opposite direction a 15min bus ride to the old town and the markets there. Either way the busses stop just at the top of the road both going and coming (though on the way to the old town you have to walk about 200m on the far side of the road to reach the stop...no real problem!). Theres a golf course right next door too if thats your game and it looked nicely maintained.

The area is very peaceful and the impression is of a real safe haven. Just around the corner is a trio of eateries which turn-out delicious local food and drinks and are open at the usual times with one, "Las Chicas Quesadillas" (although I think I've got the name horribly wrong) staying open pretty late if you need a snack. There is also an invaluable supermarket where you can get food to cook in the litle apartments at Sina Suites where the kitchens are well equipped (pots, pans, knives, forks...) and functional. There is also a little kiosk nearer to the Sina suites but its a little more pricey.

All in all I found everything I was looking for here and I would happily reccomend this as a spot for old and young, sightseer and partygoer: I think all could co-exist quite happily here as the size and layout of the place meant that I hardly saw or heard anyone else from the party I was travelling with all week, and there were 18 of us!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
