It's like going home. Chef and Sonya are delightful. Food is INCREDIBLE! We started with the tuna carpaccio and blue cheese soufflé! I had the best duck of my life. She always gets the fish special. We love this place. Go. You won't regret it.

Having Cancun as a regular destination for our family, the one place we NEED to go is to this amazing restaurant. Not only you receive the best treatment by Sonya, but the the food... WOW. Chef Alain is a master and a true artist. Can't wait to go back!

We visited du Mexique on July 24th. The food was prepared perfectly and was the best meal in Cancun. Chef Alain Grimond is an artistic chef. He creates a masterpiece from his heart and soul. He and his wife, Sonya are attentive to every detail and will assure themselves that you have enjoyed your dining experience as much as they have enjoyed presenting it to you. We split everything we ordered. The escargot was seasoned and cooked perfectly. An appetizer portion was twelve snails! I ordered the tuna tartar. It was presented in a standing cylinder shape with caviar covering the upper circle. Incredible! I ordered duck with orange sauce as the main course. Duck is my favorite at any restaurant. I've eaten it in Hong Kong to Paris and without a doubt, this was the best ever. My wife ordered lamb and it was superior. We had a martini and a house cabernet. When the bill came I was shocked at the price because I expected to pay alot more! This husband and wife team has created a gastronomic heaven that everyone would love. This is a small restaurant with few tables. Make a reservation here for a meal you will never forget! By the way, there was a review from a New York, New York world traveler that worried me that the standards here may not be as great as you read from other reviewers. I think that reviewer was in a bad mood; this is no regular New York City neighborhood restaurant.

We came across this little Gem over 7 years ago.....by accident.
Both Allain and Sonia , greeted us with the hospitality, that so many restaurants, now lack..
This, is more than your typical restaurant, this couple, run this business from there heart.
We have been traveling to Cancun for many years... Chef Allain, is on top of his game...
and his wife Sonya..is right there to make this successful.
Truly a must Try....
And this is truly displayed in your visit.

Well.....I'm going against the grain here and all the praise. This place is good. Food is what I would expect. Did it go beyond that? No. I had escargot (why I don't know, haven't had it in years) and fish. The escargot was, escargot. My fish was overcooked (happens).
The husband and wife are very pleasant and professional.
If you're coming from a large metro area, NY, LA ect this place is what you would consider a "nice" neighborhood restaurant. Nothing wrong here at all. Just not sure what the hype is about.
