“Amazing tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

We absolutely loved our tour with Alma's LDS Tours and Arturo Montoya. We took an individual tour with him and it was a full and wonderful day. He is an amazing person and we couldn't have enjoyed our day with him any more than we did. We were fascinated by what we saw, heard, and felt. Subsequent to the tour, we also enjoyed attending church in Playa Del Carmen with Arny.

Thank you for making our visit so meaningful and wonderful!

Richard H.

“Wonderful day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

We went to Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and the cenote on a day trip. Our guide was outstanding with a big binder filled with visual aids and technical information. I was impressed with the ruins but wished we could climb up. That is no longer allowed here.

We went to Chicken Itza early in the day and left about the time the big tours were arriving. On to a great buffet lunch with local dancers and then a swim in a huge Cenote. There is a nice place to jump in from about 15 ft up and the water was warm.

After that our tour went to Ek Balam which I think was even better than Chickin Itza. They allow you to climb up the temples which are about as big as those at Chickin Itza. The guide had more history and prophecy than I needed but I enjoyed all the information. The references to Mormon religion was minor and since I am not Mormon I did not feel any sort of selling or recruiting. I do understand their beliefs and respect them.

I would recommend this trip for anyone that wants to get a real understanding of the Mayan culture. All entry fees were included with my payment.

“The best tours hands down!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

As first time visitors to Cancun we decided to go on a couple of tours to the Mayan ruins. We have been all over Mexico since 1987 and are Spanish speakers so we were pretty particular. Several friends and work associates suggested checking out the tour companies. Alma Tours is the best we have ever used. While they cater to the LDS people they are outstanding with everyone. Their knowledge of the sites is phenomenal and their English is flawless (both our guides had lived and gone to universities in the U.S.) Their tours are about twice as long as others and their in-depth explanations of the site, culture, history is amazing. If you book two tours they will take you to LDS services if you are there on a Sunday...for FREE! We had Miguel and David for our guides and they were fabulous. Can't say enough about this group. If you want a professional tour with plenty of explanatory detail then use Alma's LDS Tours. The lunch we had on our tour to Chichen Itza was excellent and they provide as much bottled water as you want. They also explain a lot about Mexico and the area while you are traveling to the sites. Thjye also share personal insight into the area and will give you suggestions on places, restaurants, etc. You can be assured that you will get your money's worth with Alma's LDS Tours.

“Awesome!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

We took two tours from Alma LDS Tours and visited a total of 4 ruin sites and 2 cenotes. It was worth every penny. Our guides, Miguel and David, were excellent and very knowledgeable. They made sure we were comfortable in the hot weather and provided an excellent experience. Couldn't be happier with what was provided as far as up-to-date archeological findings and theories regarding aspects of the ruins. Wonderful for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for anyone else.

“Above and beyond”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

Me, my kids (ages 21, 18 and 15), my best friend, her husband and their kids (ages 8 and 11) decided to take a tour that included Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and the cenote, Ik Kil. We decided last minute and called in the evening, they were able to take us the very next day. Miguel was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and awesome! We all happen to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but I really think anyone would have a fantastic time. Even the little ones were commenting about how much fun it was to learn about everything we were seeing. Mexico is amazing and there is so much to see! We decided to use Alma's tours again to go to Xel-Ha. Again they were able to fit us in on short notice. They were very reasonable as well, cheaper than the tour through the resort. Then we loved them so much, we decided to go on another last minute tour to Tulum, Coba and another cenote. Our guide was Arturo, he was great as well, very informative. After we got back to our resort, Arturo came to bring us gifts, including maps, necklaces and a really beautiful plaque. I mean, seriously, who does that? I would totally recommend these guys to anyone! They spoke perfect english, the food was better than the resort we stayed at, the vehicles were new and very nice, there was plenty of ice cold water! I loved it and so did everyone else, even the kids from 21 to 8!
