“Wonderful and beautiful place”

The Royal Caribbean is a nice place to stay and the view from your room is fantastic. All rooms have ocean views. No negative comments to make except for the problems with the internet. Always shutting down or freezing up. They did fix the modems in the room the day before we left. One word of caution - do not buy anything in the store on property since it is easier to cross the street at the entrance to the complex and go to the local store XOXO, there you will find the prices at least 1/2 the cost of what you pay on site. Also most tourists go to the large shopping area downtown for souvenir's but instead right behind "jimmy buffets Margaretville" is the Cancun Market. go there as the prices are a lot less and yes you can haggle with the seller and save lots of money. purchased 2 Harley Davidson shirts for friends for only 10. (American not peso). All in all the trip was nice and the stay was wonderful. Its a beautiful complex and the staff are quite polite and nice to everyone. Sadly though a lot of staff say they "no speak English" but this is a bit of a surprise since Cancun has a lot of English speaking people. Enjoy The Royal Caribbean but don't forget to leave the property and see the local sights. We will return to the Royal Caribbean hopefully soon and bring friends along with us. We brought a couple who are engaged and they never have been to the area and fell in love with it. / We were lucky as we just missed the week long rain storm that hit them the week before. We had 80' degree weather and plenty of sunshine. Enjoy The Royal Caribbean and to help with the long lines at checkout try checking out the day before (settling your bill) its a lot easier and less stress. So the morning you leave its much quicker and only have to drop off your keys and say goodbye to a wonderful complex until you return. :).

We came to Royal Caribbean after attending a wedding at the Hyatt and spending two days there. It was not anywhere near as nice and professional as the Royal Carri bean resorts. the staff here understood English and every request we could have had was always included. beaches and rooms clean and food was outstanding. This was our first visit to Mexico and this resort made it one of our best vacations and we will return and we are spreading the word to our family. Easy access to all activities and I liked the no cash policy the card was used for all charges on all Royal connected resorts and tours. It is not a hotel it is much more like a home away from hiome..

Room Tip: All rooms are great we had ocean view others have lagoon

The Royal Caribbean exceeded our expectations for a first class experience. Although members for 18 years we had not visited the resort and expected to sell our share after our visit; we are keeping it and plan to return each year hereafter.

Clean, well maintained rooms and grounds, food is an 8 and customer service a 10.

Enjoy

Just returned from 2 weeks in Cancun. We spent one week at the Royal Caribbean. We had previously stayed at the sister property the Royal Islander (located next door) so we were familiar with the property. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit with an ocean view. The restaurant was more than adequate and priced reasonably. There is a on-site market with more than enough staples for breakfast and snack preparation in the unit which has a full size kitchen. The pool was great. Staff was very friendly and fulfilled requests with a smile. The week we were there the weather was not great. The day after arrival it poured all day long. Everyone was in the bar. Service was great and delivered with a smile. Additionally, there is a complimentary bus from the Caribbean/Islander to the Royal Sands and Royal Cancun so we took advantage and checked out the others. Same excellent facilities with good restaurants and pools. Service is tops at all the resorts.

Room Tip: Advise minimum1 BR if couple as lockoff has 2 double beds.

First time in cancun, may be the last. The room was a gift for us. The Royal Caribbean is a beautiful resort but... we were there for a week and had sun for 2 1/2 days. The waves are so rough that u have to be a great swimmer or you will be sucked out to sea. The room was great, plenty of room & the staff were great. The only staff member we didn't care for was the concierge who met us the first day and pressured us to do time sharing even after we said no right off the bat, he followed us around (even to the beach) til we caved in. Stated we would get special gift and only take 90 minutes...3 hours later & no gift!!! We couldn't even complain about cuz it was the last day we were there & he was no where to be found to complain to. The internet stinks, don't bother taking computer or iPad, waste of time. No night life unless you're in your 20s Place dies after dinner with nothing to do. With rain 5 days while we were there & no internet we were bored silly. Will not go back, will stick to my cruising or go to Aruba where the weather is nicer and plenty to do at night.

Room Tip: Room facing the ocean was great

I found a great deal on a room for two nights ($99/night with breakfast buffet included), so given the low price, I shouldn't really complain about much. We stayed for Sunday & Monday nights in mid-November.

I will start with the good. The view from our room was pretty amazing, and given that every room here faces the ocean, I have to imagine you can't get a room with a bad view. It took 30 seconds to walk to the very well-kept beach from our room. We never had a problem finding beach lounge chairs. Check in and check out were smooth and quick, despite many other reviews to the contrary. No one tried to pitch us on anything, we were left to our own devices as soon we were given the key. The grounds are very well manicured. The room was spacious and very clean. We never had any trouble using the wifi. They tell you up front the network is not fast enough to Skype, watch YouTube, etc., but browsing worked just fine.

Some of the bad isn't really that bad, just not for us. We are in our very early 30s, and at times felt like the youngest people in the resort. This is definitely a more 40s-60s crowd. Nothing wrong with that of course, but it does affect the vibe and atmosphere. You could hear a pin drop at night. The overall decor seemed, to us, to be a bit dated. As for the room, I can't even say there WAS any decor. Plain beige bedspreads, beige curtains, beige walls, no artwork. Not a huge deal since we didn't spend much time there, but some updates would be nice. While the breakfast buffet was decent, the food at the La Cabana bar was pretty bad. The nachos and ceviche were worse than you'd find in a bad Mexican chain restaurant in the States. Plus the whole bar constantly smelled like popcorn (due to the popcorn machine). And now the worst: they close the beach at 5pm. Made everyone get out of the ocean and everything. Who closes a beach at 5pm??? We tried to take a dip at about 4am after a night at Coco Bongo, only to be busted by some guy with a flashlight. Superlame.

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars, but since we didn't run into any real issues and the "cons" were more a matter of taste/preference, I'm giving them a 4. Probably wouldn't return unless we were just looking for a cheap place to crash for a few hours though.

We stayed for 2 1/2 weeks and had a couple join us for one week. They had never been to Cancun and were amazed at how beautiful the rooms and entire facility was. We ate at five of the restaurants and they loved the quality and choices of food as well as the friendly staff at each of the restaurants. We were close to so many activities including golf courses, shopping and well operated parks.

Room Tip: Plan your spa services early so you can set the times you want to use them.
