“Great Vacation”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

This was our first time at the Royal Caribbean as well as our first time at any of the other Royal Resorts. We traveled with our family of 5 with two teenage daughters and a 9 year old son. We had a great time. My kids enjoyed the pool activities, the beach was beautiful, the rooms were spacious (all rooms are ocean view), and the staff were friendly. The hotel grocery store was convenient. There is a nice fitness center $8 a day, however i felt comfortable running along the hotel strip as there were always other runners. I enjoyed the Pilates and water aerobics. We did have to transfer rooms on Saturday as part of the agreement but the transition went smoothly within an hour. It was nice having the option of dining at the Royal Islander or Royal Sands (both in Cancun) because they are all Royal Resorts you have access to all. We would defiantly revisit The Royal Caribbean.

The resort was a good place at a great price. I usually saty at 4-5 star places, and was willing to drop my standards a bit to cut costs as traveling at Spring Break is pricey. There are things I won't compromise on though - and The Royal Caribbean delivered. It was clean. It had white sand and beautiful blue water. It had hot weather and a swim-up bar. There wasn't a problem finding a lounger on the beach or around the pool. The service was excellent. We made several requests around coming early and staying late etc. The front desk staff were always helpful. Although we couldn't stay late in our room - they allowed us use of a hospitality suite to shower and freshen up, as well as securely storing our luggage. There are time share presentations, but we've been there done that and didn't struggle to avoid them. It was a good stay! There was only one tiny incidence of a cockroach running around outside near the restaurant patio. I think it's somewhat to be expected in a place this hot. . .and never saw any other evidence of any bugs or unwanted critters. Our small room had a kitchenette which turned out to just be some dishes, a coffeepot, microwave and small fridge. . .but they got us a toaster when we asked for it, and it was all sufficient for making our breakfasts and lunches. We ate some afternoon snack food by the pool some days, and dinners at restaurants, and about 3 drinks a day from the bars each. In the end our food and drink cost about $7-800 for the week if you're comparing to a all inclusive or a meal plan. In short, I prefer the grand decor of a 4-5 star, and this place has a very plain Jane sports bar - like you'd expect at a University and a very plain lobby, but this helps you save money! There were no rowdy teens as this isn't the American Spring Break and the resorts have strict policies against Spring Breakers! We were relieved by the relaxed, quiet atmosphere. There's almost nothing to do in the evenings, so they could plan more events and activities to make it better, but you could rent movies, and watch a few decent English channels in your room. Wanting for exciting nightlife- the clubs are a $20 cab ride or $1 bus ride - 20 minutes away! In short we were pleased with our stay, and especially with the service - front desk, tour operators, maids, restaurants, bars, etc! Good job Royal Resorts! Awesome beach!!!!!! Great pool!!!!!!!! Enjoyed our trip!

This was our fourth stay at the Royal Resorts and first time at Royal Caribbean (RC). RC is a well kept property - even as it approaches 30 years old. The property is clean, grounds are beautiful and the beach is excellent. Nice depth, clean beach thanks to staff constantly cleaning it, and plenty of Palapas and chairs and wait service to really enjoy the day at the beach.

We were a party of 10 this trip, the resort is quite accustomed to larger groups. Plenty of activities and restaurants for everyone. The food was consistently very good to excellent.

The main reason we returned to the Royal Resorts is the friendliness of the people and outstanding service. This trip did not disappoint - another consistently excellent week.

Room Tip: All rooms have great views of the ocean. Would not recommend the third floor of building H - it is...

This place has never disappointed, the staff is great and the facility is kept in top shape. It's also located in a great area where you have lots of restaurants and just a short walk away is the local maya museum.

The Royal Resorts in Cancun always do an excellent job of making our family feel very well cared for and welcomed in a comfortable upscale but not stuffy setting. With two immediately adjacent properties (Royal Carribean and Royal Islander) as well as a third just a mile or two away ( Royal Sands), there is no lack of activities or ammenities. The Royal Haciendas in Playa Del Carmen is less than an hour away and families can use those facilities as a change if needed.

This was our third time staying at one of the Royal Resorts in Cancun. Royal Caribbean was as nice an experience as the others. Clean, family-friendly and fantastic service are consistent. Food is good with quite a bit of choice and the front staff are happy to help you get off site as well. Check in with your concierge right away-they are very helpful! We'll be back for sure.

This resort is very well maintained and comfortable without the huge crowds we have encountered at other resorts. The pool area and beach have plenty of lounge chairs and shade if you want it. The rooms are spacious and clean. We weren't interested in the time share sales pitch but the staff and activity booking staff were helpful. Other than being asked where we were going every time we left the resort the whole family had a great time.

Room Tip: All rooms are oceanview but the ones overlooking the pool area have less wind than the beachfront un...
