Supermarket, movie theaters, department stores, clothing, shoes, food, snacks, everything inside this big, big mall. Also boutiques. Must visit the VIP theaters.

On a recent trip to Cancun, we had to go to Plaza Las Americas to buy a phone charger for my sister's phone (she was the only one with an international plan and, of course, forgot it). From the moment we walked into the mall area we were engulfed in what seemed to be millions of people. The mall floor was packed wall to wall with shoppers and panhandlers. We were surprised because it was a Wednesday afternoon and couldn't believe it was that busy. As we walked through the mall to the Radio Shack, we were bombarded with people trying to sell us stuff and make us go into their stores or look at their midway shops. Some even grabbed our arms. It was completely crazy and the most uncomfortable mall experience I have ever had.

In the mall is the Cinepolis movie complex, and inside is the VIP lounge, 6 theaters with leather recliner seating and servers bringing food and beverages including cocktails to your seats. The VIP area has its own lounge, food and restrooms behind its turnstile entry. AND THE TICKETS WERE 116 mx pesos! The movie and sound were digital, the acoustics were great, and when you buy your tickets you select your seat just like an airline! ITS AWESOME. Movies are English subtitled Spanish, some are dubbed. The website is great for picking film times and sub/dub selections. We saw 12 Years a Slave. My wife ordered a marguerita, frozen, it was excellent.

We had time to scout out all malls in Cancun.
A long bus ride or $21.00 cab ride from hotel district this mall follows similar principles as any US or Canadian mall. Decent stores , variety and seasonal sales. Liked it better than Isla Mall .. Very crowded on weekends w locals. Helps if you speak Spanish ;)
