We discovered this place by accident on a rainy day because we were looking for an indoor attraction. A local Tour guide put us on to it.Take the R27 bus from the Hotel Zone or about 16USD by taxi. I like shopping where the locals do and looking in their Wallmart etc. We found another Supermarket there local brand and the staff were so helpful with finding us the toiletries we wanted - got some cheap hair straighteners there as ours didn't seem to like the power supply in Mexico - very cheap for stuff like Tequilla.

Nearby was Cineopolis where they do movies in the American version with Spanish sub titles or dubbed into Spanish - marked DOB. We went to see the new Spiderman movie in 4DX which was not well explained to us beforehand. Tickets were cheap and I just though it was like an IMAX with extra leg room. Instead of which it was full 3D with moving seats, light effects and water spray and wind effects in the action sequences. It was a laugh even if I did end up like the lady on the Specsavers ad who accidentally sits on the roller coaster when looking for somewhere to take the weight off her feet!!

When we came out they were shooting some scenes for Mexico's next top Model outside one of the department stores - so that was a good bit of local colour as well. It was great to see the Mexicans with all their extended familes just hanging out and doing their regular stuff, much better than just hanging around the Hotel Zone which does not give you a good idea of the real Mexico.

went to this shopping mall to have a look round, it was a big place with a lot of shops, a mixture of designer and cheaper shops. big variety of resturants. a lot of Mexican people here when we visited and some of the shops the workers follow you around which is off putting. also there are 2 pet shops here which was upsetting as they have dogs and cats in cages with no blankets or anything.. just water bowls. if you love shop I would head to la isla shopping instead.

Supermarket, movie theaters, department stores, clothing, shoes, food, snacks, everything inside this big, big mall. Also boutiques. Must visit the VIP theaters.

On a recent trip to Cancun, we had to go to Plaza Las Americas to buy a phone charger for my sister's phone (she was the only one with an international plan and, of course, forgot it). From the moment we walked into the mall area we were engulfed in what seemed to be millions of people. The mall floor was packed wall to wall with shoppers and panhandlers. We were surprised because it was a Wednesday afternoon and couldn't believe it was that busy. As we walked through the mall to the Radio Shack, we were bombarded with people trying to sell us stuff and make us go into their stores or look at their midway shops. Some even grabbed our arms. It was completely crazy and the most uncomfortable mall experience I have ever had.
