Jerry, his associate Jorge and our driver, Francisco were awesome. Arranged for a private tour and it was worth every penny. Would highly recommend GoWithJerry.com. Tell him Donna from Atlanta sent you.

Thank Donna B

we asked for a guide through the hacienda resort, and they connected us with juan....what a fabulous guy. superb english language skills, very smart and knowledgeable, great sense of humor, and generally fun guy to be with for our party of four. a must. do not do chichen itza without a guide.

Interesting and fascinating , guide was very knowledgeable but watch out for the heat ! There are shady areas though , so it was bearable and well worth the effort to visit .

We didn't visit Chichen Itza with Jerry, a/k/a Gerardo, but rather took a private daylong tour in the Tulum area. We knew about him thanks to excellent tripadvisor reviews and also via personal connection.

What a superb day trip he organized for us. How wonderful it was to benefit from his knowledge and care. People whom we passed at this or that site would pause to listen in. I felt jealous of my own self for having access to such a great guide!

We traveled to must-see Tulum sites mentioned elsewhere in here. He started out with an educational talk in the vehicle as we drove to Tulum. He gave informative mini-lectures at different junctures as we walked through archeological sites and the jungle. And he infused each segment of our trip with humor and cultural insight.

Having a private vehicle for our small group was also fantastic. Jerry's longtime driver is a seasoned road warrior. Or, I should say, peace-maker. His driving could not have felt safer. And he was both cordial and sweet.

Jerry's own authentic interest in the varied aspects of our tour -- particularly the archeological aspects -- and his commitment to really informing his clients -- were palpable. We loved it.

Jerry was also incredibly understanding of us northerners. He seems perfectly at home in both cultures. It made everything about the day that much more interesting and easy and plain old fun.

Final notes: we all noticed with keen interest the care Jerry took to re-confirm our lunch plans by cell phone in the car. I don't speak much Spanish but I could tell he was really grilling the restaurant for details about how long we should expect to wait for food and so on. I know that this level of detailed inquiry goes into everything that high-quality professional tour guides do, but it was interesting to see how a pro interfaces with his opposite numbers in the tourism industry. We were impressed.

Fortunately, the restaurant we chose met with his approval. Because it turns out that Jerry also knows his food.

I hope there'll be a next time to visit the Yucatan peninsula *and* take a tour with Jerry, because there is MUCH to see in this part of the world, and I want to check out Jerry's restaurant recommendations, too!

I’ve known Gerardo Ham (aka “Jerry”) for many years and finally had the chance to go on a couple of tours with him on a recent family trip to Mexico. The first was a 2-day tour through the northern Yucatan, exploring the Rio Lagartos nature reserve, Valladolid, the magnificent ruins at Ek’ Balam, and some out-of-the-way fishing villages. It was a wonderful adventure, and we got to visit some truly beautiful locations that most tourists never see.

For the second tour, Gerardo picked us up in Akumal and we traveled south to the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve. Gerardo planned a fabulous day, which included a tour of the Muyil ruins, a walk through the rainforest, a boat tour through the Sian Ka’an lagoons (which included getting out of the boat and floating down a channel through the mangrove, carried only by the current and our life jackets), a stop for lunch, and a tour of the Tulum ruins. Gerardo, as all the other reviewers have noted, is an excellent guide, and his interpretation of the ruins at Tulum helped us to imagine what it was like as a living, vibrant city.

Needless to say, this was not a trip we ever could have done on our own, and while for us it was a real splurge, it was totally worth it. We have lots of great memories of that day, and great photos as well, which we have Gerardo to thank for. He and his driver, Francisco, were particularly kind and attentive to my mother, who is in her 80s.

I can highly recommend Jerry Ham to plan or lead a tour for you. He is a consummate professional and leaves no details to chance. You’re in very good hands with Jerry!
