This was mine and my husband's first visit to Cancun and we cannot say enough about the Royal Cancun. A person could not ask for a better staff. Everyone was so friendly and always smiling and making you feel very welcome. We had a two bedroom/1bath oceanfront room which was perfect. We ate at LaPalapas many times, breakfast, lunch and dinner and it was always good. While we were there we took a catamaran to the Isle of Mujeres. Very fun time...rented golf carts and drove around the island and also did some shopping. Took a tour one day to Chichenitza, We booked thru Thomas More inside the Royal Cancun. It was a fantastic tour. Our host was Carlos , who was excellant as well as entertaining. Eduardo and Felipe were the tour guides and they really were excellant, we were enthralled!!! We then went to a Cenote to swim. We had dinner at the Captain's Cove, LaHabichuela Sunset, and Lorenzillo's. They were all excellant but our favorite was LaHabichuela Sunset .. Francisco was our waiter and made our nite a very enchanting one.!! THe beach was fantastic, the water crystal clear!!! We met so many wonderful people at the resort.. made lots of new friends!! I cannot stop thinking about trip...I cannot wait to go back. Luis and Fernando and all of the staff at La Palapas were phenonmenal!!! I can't quit smiling!! :)

The resort has 2 bedroom units. These consist of one level 2 BD/1Bath and two level 2BD/2 Bath units. The units are fantastic for families or two couples traveling together. The kitchen is modern and they are stocked with everything you need to cook meals. The onsite grocery and convenience store is wonderful and everything is charged on your key. The market has everything you need and can be very inexpensive. If you are looking to save money...buy the Mexican version of the product you are looking for. For example, if you want potato chips, don't buy Lay's. For half the price with much better flavors, buy Sabritos. The American brands are more expensive and no better quality. The resort is cashless and everything is charged via your individual key which makes splitting the bill with friends a breeze. The manicured lawns, the pools, and the beach are amazing. (The beach is great, but if you want actual swimming, it is very shallow and better for children) If you want to party, go somewhere else. This is a private club that you can reserve and it provides a quiet relaxing atmosphere for the whole group. We will be returning. NOTE: Do not exchange your money at the airport, as the hotel will give you extremely better rates.

Room Tip: If you don't need the two bathrooms and can survive with just one, book a beachfront unit. The view is amazing!

The Royal Cancun (Previously known as Club International) is my favorite place to stay in the world. It's situated in Cancun away from the party scene but close enough to get there if that's what your after. It's a little bit quieter than other hotels because it's smaller but the service is great and the beach is wonderful.

Just returned from a week at The Royal in Cancun. What a wonderful vacation. The resort is beautiful, contantly maintaining the premises. The food in every restaurant was delicious. But the best were the employees, they could not do more for you. Every one we met was so helpful and willing to go out of their way. Luis Enrique at the Lobby Bar was the best, fun and friendly.
We stayed at The Royal in Playa del Carmen and this was just as good. Only down side, there are a lot of lounge chairs by the pool, but you have to get out there very early to get one. People put their stuff down but never come back and those chairs can't be used, they need a better system. If you have an opportunity to stay at The Royal, do it you will not be disappointed.

the Royal Cancun has beautiful facilities and friendly staff. We loved our 2 bedroom apt and had ample room for the four of us.., next time we could bring our kids and still have lots of room. We loved taking the shuttle to other 'Royal' resorts and enjoying those pools and beaches but it was nice to come back to the quiet side of Cancun at night. We loved the beach and amenities right there on site and snorkled, sailed and ate there daily.
