We stayed from July 22 to 27 at the Royal Service area. Our butler, Juan, was simply awesome! He paid attention to detail, booked us dinner every night and provided us with the flexibility to change our reservation when needed. The best part was that since he found out that we were celebrating our anniversary, every night he decorated our room with candles, roses, champagne and tequila!! The guys at the royal service pool were great. We also had breakfast there in the Palapa a couple of times and it was great. The royal service lounge is very well attended, Its a nice place when you want a quiet time and to enjoy drinks, coffee or snacks. Every day we went to the Blue Agave for margaritas. Ernesto prepared the best margaritas in the hotel. Our favorite was the tamarindo margarita! Samuel and Atilano treated us very well also. The tacos are very tasty. Consider the Tempo restaurant if you want a different culinary experience, out from the crowds and are willing to pay extra for it. We were served by Fernanda and she was great! The chefs, Felipe and Ismael were right on the money. The only thing I will not recommend is dinning outdoors such as in the Market Grill or La Perla. The temperature was too hot and humid to enjoy food and drinks. Choose Mole, Fuego, Vento or Bana. I will also avoid Naos due to the crowds. I found uncomfortable that they do not have a formal theater or room dedicated for shows and if you want to see one, you have to do it standing at the Avenue Bar. I definitely will come back to the Royal Service hoping that Juan will be our butler again and very definitely look for Ernesto at the Blue Agave for amazing margaritas.

Room Tip: Building 5, Royal Service. Lagoon view to have a beautiful sunset every afternoon. No need to pay extra for ocean view.

Hands down, this was the best vacation I have ever been on and best resort that I have visited in Mexico. The staff is top notch. They are very welcoming, helpful, and always polite. The rooms are beautiful no matter what view you have. The beach is breath taking with plenty of beach chairs and pretty low traffic. We did get the Royal Service upgrade and I 100% recommend that service. They are very accommodating and make it worth every penny you spend. The food was excellent every meal we had. Did not have one complaint about food or drink choices. This was a very relaxing vacation and we can not wait to go back next year. You will not be disappointed if you book with Paradisus!

BIG thank you to Francisco, the beach waiter for Royal service! He was the absolute best waiter we had! He was always there when we needed him and was so nice. He gave the best service! He is another reason we WILL be coming back!!

We (25 family members and friends), just returned from celebrating my mother's 80th birthday at Paradisus. We had previously stayed at Paradisus in the Dominican Republic and accommodations were great, so we booked the same chain this time in Cancun.

Everything pleased us...the rooms, the service, the pool, the beach. It's obviously wonderful management, because everyone was so friendly and helpful. It's like they really "WANTED" you to have a good time.

Abraham is head of the front desk and all rooms and went out of his way, several times, to change rooms for us and make it better for all of our families. He's so professional and did everything he could to make this 80th birthday celebration, one to remember. They even went out of their way to bring in a huge bouquet of flowers for mom's birthday, as their surprise.

Food was about an 8 out of 10 at the buffet restaurant...I've had much better...but it was just fine. The sushi restaurant was fantastic...positioned in the middle of the whole pyramid...up 1/2 level and the sushi was superb. If you like it...don't miss out...we had it 3 times in the week. (Only open at night, with reservations). Taco restaurant was very tasty too...lots of little mini tacos of all different kinds to choose. The outside grill...connected to the buffet, had Argentine Churrasco...lots of different barbecued meats on a stick. They come to your table and let you sample anything you want and keep coming back.

If you go there...book in pyramid 3 (which is the main one with the restaurants)...so you don't have to walk a long distance each time...as there are 5 pyramids. Restaurants are all on zero floor, which goes out to the pool and beach. Try to book ocean view and around the 4th floor...middle of the pool, for the best view. If you go up tooo high...like 6-8 floors, it's difficult to see the pool and the view isn't as good. Also, the rooms are smaller, as you go higher in the pyramid.

Mini bars are filled and if you need anything else...just pick up the phone...there is room service at no charge.

We were only disappointed with 2 things...not enough shade at the pool or beach. You have to pay for the bali beds and there's not enough to go around. There's not a lot of palm trees to give you shade, at this resort, either. But, it's so humid and hot, that you want to go inside after awhile and cool off in the air conditioning and get a cold drink and munchies.

The other disappointment was we requested a small birthday cake (25 small pieces) for my mom's celebration and the manager of all the culinary/food dept. was not friendly and told us we would have to pay $12.50 a slice. Unbelievably bad decision on his behalf, because we we're spending $30,000 at this resort. He then came down to $10 a slice and then $7.50 and then $5 and I told him to forget it, if they can't provide a free one. Anyway...he finally said he give it to us free, but he was very rude and unfriendly...the only sad part of the trip.

So much to see and do in and around Cancun...don't miss Xel-Ha outside of Cancun...our group loved it...I've been there 3x.

Room Tip: Pyramid 3 Floor 3 or 4 Above middle of pool

This was our 4th time to Paradisus (formerly Melia) in the last 6 years. Every time we've been back they've made more improvements since the previous trip. We were there with our 5 year old (his 3rd visit) and my in-laws and this is just such a great place for families. The pool and beach cannot be beat. Definitely rent a "Bali bed" for the best pool side experience. Jose had us setup and taken care of every morning we were there. The staff is on top of it, and will bring you all the drinks and snacks you need. Big shout out to all the guys at the pool bar; Simon, Christia, Julio and Jorge. They are busy from non-stop from 10-6 every day but never leave you waiting long and it's a totally kid friendly scene. In terms of restaurants, everything is good, but the two standouts for me were the Market Grill (Brazilian Steakhouse) and Bana (Sushi).
Already looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: We've always stayed in the 1 BR suite or deluxe 1 BR suite. Both are great if you're traveling with kids. Ocean view can't be beat if you can get it.
