Great new resort! We have been to Mexico many times and have stayed at adults only resorts some all inclusive others not. All higher end locations . Nizuc was fantastic and we came back so relaxed.
From the start it was very "low key" quiet with guests that were there to relax . Warning: no big party spot.
The lobby was stunning as was the main building. The room was large, well maintained very elegant.
Food each day and night was overall great and we cannot say enough about the wait staff.. "Mauro" at the "Ramona" was one of the best waiters we have ever had. He went out of his way to make our dinning experience wonderful and we went back a second time. Presentation and meal was 5 star. Each place was stunning.
Gym great and never crowded. Music a bit loud but it was clean and nothing was broken .
Spa area lovely and we went early as recommended to enjoy the sauna etc. We felt rushed by the staff which both my husband nor I cared for. It was not in keeping with all the other areas. Other resorts leave you alone and this was really annoying.
Beach and pool areas very clean and well maintained. Great adult pool. The staff at the water sports also top notch .
It is not adults only and several families were there which I thought would be bad but everyone was really great about respecting each other and the "kids area" looked great.
Not communicated well is the fact that gratuity is added to EVERYTHING and that is fine but it should be made clear. We heard several people upon check out shocked by this and checking with travel agents. We wanted to tip more because our service was so good. Like I said, many people were not aware of this. We only found this out on trip advisor site (thank you)!
Great place, we would go back .
I would encourage you to go and check it out, it is very peaceful and we returned to this long winter renewed.

Room Tip: We were in room 920 and further away from main building and it was very quiet, we felt as though we...

We had an excellent stay over Presidents Weekend. Our room was booked through a Virtuoso Agent and we got a super upgrade to a Garden Pool Villa. The pool was small and pretty cold, but just the size of the villa and the sofa outside was really great. The family did play 500 rummy outside on the sofa and tables.

The food was excellent. As part of our reservation we had free breakfast. I ate a ton, and my family really enjoyed the buffet with the eggs, waffles, breads, fruit, cereal, bacon, etc... My wife and I ended up just splitting a quesidilla for lunch by the pool.

The workers were very nice and really tried hard. There were some miscommunications, partly due to language barriers and partly just because that's how life is. For example, we had dinner reservations for 7 people for one of the nights at 7pm. About 6pm, the concierge called to say that someone messed up and that there was a wedding at that venue and we couldn't eat there obviously. We had to raise hell to switch to another restaurant. At first they said we could come at 10pm. Well, that wasn't working with kids. We raised a fuss and they were able to squeeze us in. The place was mostly empty the whole night.

The resort is large and there are several large buildings that are a 5-10 minute walk to the beach/pool. However, there were golf carts always going by and it was always easy to get a ride.

The pool was super large (main pool) and there were plenty of comfy chairs either by the pool or beach.

The snorkeling was excellent and we tried the paddle boards also.

Again, I want to say that the workers could not have been nicer.

I hope to return to this first class resort.

Room Tip: use a Virtuoso travel agent.

The reviews about the resort are very accurate. I will start by saying the service is impeccable. Everyone there is definitely aimed to please. From the front desk, to the pool / beach staff (hector was the best) , to the landscapers, everyone was so warm and hospitable and happy to help in anyway to make this a special experience.

The resort and rooms are beautiful. There is staff constantly maintaining it, from cleaning windows, to landscaping, to raking the beach. It is very well kept.

We were there during a not so busy time and we were upgraded from a deluxe room to a suite which was amazing. The ocean view was partially obstructed but the room made up for it. I have to note that the lighting in the bathroom was horrible. You never knew what you looked like when you stepped out!

Because it was quiet, We felt like we had our own private beach and we were thoroughly able to relax and enjoy ourselves. The water was very flat and shallow on the bay side. The adult beach had more waves and was deeper, making for a more enjoyable swim. Paddle boards and kayaks were always available, and there was a guard available to do snorkeling tours. Service again was great, whenever we got up to swim or take a walk, there was staff fixing our chairs and towels and putting our drinks on ice.

If you are looking to relax this is the place to go. If you are looking for activity, you will be bored. Getting to hotel zone in cancun requires a 10 minute walk to the bus stop or a $20 cab ride. Also, set up your own excursions and airport transportation as it is very expensive from the hotel.

The food was ok. As a vegetarian, I didn't have many options. Healthy food is also not an option. There are no casual options either. You are are always required to have a sit down meal. . It would be great if there was a deli or convenient store on sight for snacks, salads, and grab and go food. Because the hotel is very isolated from downtown cancun, you are forced to have an expensive sit down meal everytime you want to Eat. Indochin was my favorite restaurant. The breakfast restaurant had horribly slow service and the least attentive wait staff out of all the restaurants.

Alcohol is very very expensive and wine is not good. if you like good wine, bring your own. We were happy that we did.

Also, there is tax and a service fee added on to every purchase you make.

All in all, we were very happy to escape the snow and we had a lovely time. We would recommend this resort to our family and friends.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the main building so you don't have to take a golf cart to the beach or to brea...

My birthday present this year was a trip to Nizuc. What a wonderful gift! The hotel is beautiful. The property is perfectly located on a serene cove and the ocean but before the hotel strip ( one hotel next to another). The rooms are elegant ...the food was excellent and varied ..the amenities were first class..the staff was more than accommodating and the atmosphere was relaxed elegance. We loved our stay and look forward to returning soon.

If you are looking for a luxury resort and spa to relax and rejuvenate from your busy life, this is it. The attention to detail is unsurpassed. The food is gourmet quality and the staff is so warm and accommodating (Raul, our butler, Denny, our waiter pool/beachside and Mariana at the front desk, just to name a few). We felt totally pampered and well rested after our four night stay. We would definitely return! Thank you, Taniele from Ultimate Jet Vacation, for recommending Nizuc. We love working with you.

Room Tip: Request Ceiba (residence 1) if you can. Perfectly located.

We have vacationed in the cancun/playa del carmen area for many years, enjoying many different resorts such as secrets maroma, secrets capri, paradisus la perla, royal hideaway & le blanc. Nizuc is a new resort, having opened less than a year ago. One of the highlights of this property is it's close proximity to the airport but separation from the cancun hotel zone.

Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a suite with a plunge pool in one of the higher rise buildings. Interestingly enough, we declined the upgrade in order to stay in the main building which is much closer to the pools, beach and restaurants. The bed was perfectly situated to capture the view of the ocean. The terraces are all wonderfully spacious. There is one detail that has been neglected in the guest rooms. The lighting in the bathrooms is not designed to accommodate seeing one's self in the mirror.

Though Nizuc is not adults only, it is a very quiet resort. This was very appealing to us. Anyone seeking daily pool activities or nightlife, go elsewhere. The two pools in the main area are gorgeous. We chose to relax at the smaller adults only pool. It is absolutely tranquil. There is a third pool at the far end of the resort, tucked in between the Terra Nostra restaurant and the mangroves. Didn't seem appealing.

Based on reviews on this site, we were prepared for a bit of sticker shock with regard to food pricing. For anyone who has vacationed in the caribbean, expect the prices to be in the same ballpark. Yes, expensive, but no more so than dining at a la carte restaurants. We simply chose to not overeat or over drink! We very much enjoyed the breakfast buffet -special thanks to Jesisai, dinner at LaPunta -thank you William. Dinner at Indochine was good as well. The restaurants each have their own unique and appealing design.
Beware - bottled water is expensive to the extreme. Be sure to ask for "house water" at the restaurants. Your water will be poured from a pitcher, no charge!

The tennis courts on the property were not yet completed when we were there. They may be by now. Through the concierge, my husband connected with a terrific pro by the name of Mariano. They played off premises. Mariano was the best pro my husband has played with in the area. Hopefully, once the courts open, he'll be the go to person at Nizuc.

I had two wonderful massages at the spa with Enrique.
When looking at the price list for massages, be aware that, as an example, a 50 minute massage is stated as $160. After tax and service charge, the bill was about $220...

Nizuc is the perfect resort to visit if you are looking for a relaxing and pampered vacation. Over and above the beauty of the surroundings, the staff is impeccable. The resort really sets the standard for excellence!

Room Tip: rooms in the main building are well situated.

This is an exquisitely appointed modern walled-in Mayan luxury hotel situated in an isolated area on the Caribbean Sea side of the Cancun Peninsula (across from Cancun's Hotel row). For a quality quiet get away resort, the Nizuc is difficult to beat.

The only down side is you will be a captive of the hotel since there is very little else in the immediate area. To meet tour buses, we were forced to walk a half mile outside the compound to the Westin-Regina Hotel. The three restaurants within the compound are fair to meddling, but very pricey, with Indochine, seeming to be the best of them. My wife got sick on the Veal Loin at Romano's.

Her analysis is that the resort gave us "Mexican quality at European prices." Nizuc is still working out the kinks in their phone/internet system, but were anxious not to allow that to interfere with overall quality of our stay. If problems should arise, may I suggest getting to Fransciso pronto: He is the "Rainmaker/Fixer," and worth his weight in gold.

Room Tip: The front towers are the only ones with a view of the hub of the harbor. From the others towers, one...
