The Gran Caribe exceeded our expectations above and beyond from the staff to the service & food. The rooms were picture perfect...what we had seen online was exactly what the room looked like. The food was phenomenal... from buffet to a la carte. The bars had service faster than we had ever experienced. The entertainment from pool activities to the cultural shows at night were lots of fun and very enjoyable. I wish we could list the name of every employee at this hotel but there were a few who we'd like to recognize that made our honeymoon beyond enjoyable.

Estaban Longoria, Daniel Hernandez and the entire sports and entertainment team-made lounging by the pool very fun including the Crazy Game and the Tequilla Volleyball. They were always full of energy and always funny.

Cesar-Trade Winds Bar. Made very good drinks and never made us wait for our drinks. He was always very funny and made very god conversations. Taught us some spanish while we relaxd by the water.

Fily-Marias, Very fast service and enjoyable dinner. Made the best Mayan Coffee I have ever had. Always seemed very happy to be able to please everybody's wishes

The enitre Lobby Bar staff (to many people to list individually) Was very entertaining and if they did not know english they would get somebody to translate. Never waited for drinks. By the time the drinks were finished they already had a new one on the way or already on the table.

Omar-Guest Services-explained everything the resort had to offer and made sure every day when we walked throuh the lobby everything was going ok......I would like to extend a very Happy Birthday....Hope you had fun.

Maria and Monica-Spa Services. The best massages we have ever had. It was unbelievable. Next time we come back that is the first thing we are going to do.

Hotel was beautiful. The room was clean, amazing view of the sea. The entertainment team made our holiday as they were so fun and friendly, especially Javier, Miguel, Danny and Jesus. Ennrrii was very helpful with any information we needed to know about the hotel and surrounding area. Best holiday by far, cant wait to go back next year!!

Over all this was a nice resort to stay at. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful. It was great to have such high quality service. I would steer clear of the information desk if possible. The guys there weren't really helpful to say the last. This resort is kind of in the middle of a strip of resorts. The city bus passes by and it is only 23 cents cdn to take into the city.

The food was ok. The buffets were always the same so by the end of the trip it was time to go home for sure. 7 days of eating the same food for breakfast and lunch isn't so much fun. The buffet food was also ok, nothing I would write home about. The areas to eat at for supper at great. The restraunt outside on the deck was by the best and no resos needed.

The rooms were very clean. We had a room with 2 'double beds.' Let me tell you, the double beds were more like single beds. We asked for a cot on the second night and the staff brought it to our room for no extra charge which was nice. The spa was nice but a little on the high priced side. The beach is smaller, but there is more than enough room to spread out and get your own space if you need. The beach is nice to walk along, but there are rocky areas; you will need shoes on your walk.

When we stayed at the hotel there was construction. It was very loud and annoying to be woken up every morning. Sr. Froggies is one of the night clubs we went to --> do not go there unless you like lots of 18 and 19 year olds around you. Coco Bongo night club was fun. There are people that come to the hotel to sell passes to the clubs for reduced prices too. We went shopping at market 28 (don't go alone), this market was in the heart of Cancun and although worth the trip a little scary.

The hotel is nice.. but there are areas that can be improved on. Over all thought it was a good vacation.

This is our third consecutive visit to the Gran Caribe Real in Cancun. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the beach is fabulous. The location is close to the open market, several malls and restaurants. The food is good (we recommend the sushi bar), the drinks are refreshing and we enjoy being pampered. We highly recommend the Gran Caribe Real for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation.

My husband and I stayed for one week in mid September and we enjoyed the resort very much. The thing that struck us the most was how friendly and helpful all the staff were. They all spoke English better than any of the other 4 resorts we have stayed at in Mexico. The two that left an impression were Jonathan and Carlos.
We made a point of trying each restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the week and we were not disappointed. The buffets had a lot of choices with special dishes each evening. The two buffet restaurants were equally good a breakfast - lots of choice for adults and children. The poolside restaurant had the best lunch fare. Maria's Mexican restaurant was very good with unusual dishes.
We were there for the anniversary of Mexico's independence so the resort threw a special party featuring a Mexican buffet. It was the best authentic Mexican meal I have ever had! Before the meal the lobby was alive with family friendly games of chance for all the guests to play. The prizes... bottles of Tequila.
The evening entertainment was a step above all the other resorts we have stayed at but not by much. It was the usual collection of Mexican dances done with a little more flair, more extensive costumes and some acrobatic and ballet thrown in for variety.
We were disappointed with our room but it was clean and well appointed. I requested a quiet room and that is what I got. It was also small and dark. The lighting in the bathroom was poor but the shower was huge. Which was great because my husband and I always shower together.
The resort has a great children's area with a splash pad, water games, large chess game and water slides for children and 2 larger water slides for adults.
The pools were clean and warm with different depth levels so you can sit in the pool without spilling your drink.
The resort's beach was clean but not large. There were lots of loungers around the pool and on the beach. There was also a few canopied beds around the pool and on the beach were you could take an afternoon nap.

Biggest flaw of hotel is--> Time Share/Vacation Club emphasize. Immediately upon checking you are convinced to go to guest service to receive your "welcome package" which is merely a 20 min video presentation, tour of their hotels, and a "great deal" buy time share from us. Too much emphasis is placed on this. I completely avoided this scam for 4 days, but was harrassed every 30 mins via phone for the first day and a half....because of this, I believe our service was not all that impressive eventhough I paid to be upgraded two classes up to Gran Master Suite with prive Jacuzzi. This room is a MUST; however, the A/C was horrible. I complained, but 75-78 degrees is about the best the A/C could put out. We hardly slept becuase it was always soooo hot. The VIP lounge area was great except for the attended at the desk who never smiled or never said "hello." If you can get past the time share stuff, the hotel is very clean, upkept and rooms are fabulous. The beach is excellent and kids waterpark area was A+ with my 4 year old. Marias was the best place to eat, other restaurants okay food. If you stay at this or similar hotel which is vested interest in "pushing" time shares, It truly puts a damper on a....what could have been a fabulous vacation!!!!! Should have gone with my other choice....Dreams Cancun!

All i can say is these people made this resort LINDA -JONATHON- NORMA -RAQUEL -MARTIN-FILY....i could not TIP these people enough, do not get rid of these employees.....would have brought a membership but was lied too by STEVE; if indeed you decide to go which i recommend pay for upgrade and stay on 6th floor I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!!!THANK YOU LINDA YOUR THE BEST
