We stayed here on our last night in Mexico. Because it was the end of December it was difficult to find a hotel in Cancun. I think the hotel consisted of an old and new section. The room we stayed in was quite new and maybe not completely finished yet, as there was no mirror in the very new installed bathroom. The place was clean and the receptionist very friendly. There was even a safe in the room. The location is not very nice and a bit far from beaches and town centre. Because there was no restaurant at the time we were staying there (maybe they were renovating it) and not much nearby, we had to take a bus or taxi to have breakfast somewhere decent. Also the noise from other guests walking in the hallway could be heard too well in the room.

I only booked into this hotel for one day whilst travelling through the city and was very impressed with the facilities and service. I found the reception staff particularly helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable and the food good. I even treated myself to a massage which was just what I needed after travelling for two days! Would recommend to anyone.

We stayed here for 2 nights after travelling in Belize for two weeks.

The hotel is based in downtown Cancun about 5-10mins from the ADO bus station (no more than 25 pesos can ride away or you can get the R1 bus right outside the station).

Due to location the hotel isn't surrounded by tourists. Area is perfectly safe and the R1 bus to the Hotel Zone (8.5 pesos) is so easy although the traffic is terrible.

The hotel is clean and comfortable with a lovely pool and hot tub. The staff are friendly, very helpful and speak perfect English. If you are backpacking or on a budget this is a perfect place to explore Cancun from.

P.s it's 250 pesos cab to the airport.

Choosing the hotel governed how our holiday went.
We booked our reservation with Hostelbookers.com which gave us cheapest rates (£28 per night). The hotel isn't cheap if you pay without finding good deals ($750 pesos per night for a single).
Arriving mid-day at Cancun airport the transfer service easily found the hotel and only took around 30 mins.
Our room (310) had a balcony and looked exactly like the pictures on trip advisor.
It was cleaned daily and was always immaculate! Considering we left it in a state every night!
There's a main road located right next to the hotel and a jacuzzi next to the pool which you can hear most conversations from your room but this being a family friendly hotel, no late night stay-outs or disturbances was really a problem.

The staff were great! Gave us everything we asked for and were reliable when asking for directions.

The location of the hotel was ideal, only a 3 minute walk to the bus stop where you can catch the Route 1 bus to the hotel zone, lovely public beaches (not all beaches are accessible as most are owned by the big hotels) and many other popular tourist locations.

Going to MOST places downtown will cost you $30 pesos (£1.66 or $2.5 USD) by taxi, maybe a little bit more if you come across as a proper tourist.

It's true that the sun is only shining down on the pool area between 9am - 3pm.

Food is available from the hotel restaurant all day and is reasonably priced. Be informed, they only offer 2 cocktails (Margarita and Piña colada) which didn't taste like cocktails :/. Beers are around $25 pesos each but you can cross the road to the petrol station and pick up 6 cans for $60 pesos.
You receive a small bottle of water each time your room has been cleaned, along with a small soap and shampoo in your shower.

All the local restaurants and bars expect a tip and may openly ask you for it. The hotel did not have this culture and was much appreciated as we are not use to this.

If you stay at this hotel be sure to visit, 'Taste of India' next to the ADO bus garage.
'Rolandais' (I think that's how you spell it), Italian restaurant.
'La habichueta', the best restaurant in Cancun! For around $800 you get a 3 course meal for two people, VERY nice atmosphere, best service and its a hidden restaurant, not full of tourists from the main road. Located in Yaxchilan, next to the late night 'dance park'.
'Playa de Los miradores' beach with the best sand and water next to hotel zone. Take your own snacks and drinks as there are no shops nearby. Sun loungers will cost $200 for two.

We found that a budget of $1,200 pesos a day got us by with all food, drinks plus an activity or two and transport.

Be prepared to see $45 USD everywhere you go for most tours and activities.

All in all, a reasonably priced hotel, with a good standard.
Would not have chosen to stay at most of other hotels nearby as they looked tacky and old. This is one of a few hotels in the area for this price which have a pool.

Alternatively, I would recommend you download Airbnb available on most smartphones and look for a room for around the same price. You may find it's better value and a better location?

Thanks :)
