Amazing! Best hotel on the Cancun stretch. We stayed at this hotel when it was called the Royal. Very impressive and one of the best hotels we have ever stayed. The A La carte restaurants were very high class. We liked the shower which had a little window looking out to sea. All the rooms have sea views, with a jacuzzi in the room - although we moved from the left of the hotel to the right which was quieter. The optics in the minibar were a lovely touch! We liked the idea of the pillow menu which was given to us when we checked in and the beds were like sleeping on clouds. We enjoyed the Pelicano restaurant for lunch by the pool, the food is served very decoratively, so apart from the main restaurant which is buffet style, all restaurants are a la carte.
The evening entertainment was great, and the seating was so comfy in arm chairs and settees surrounding the stage area. The staff are so helpful and friendly. We had a couple of visits to the Spa which was amazing and so relaxing. The 24hr bar serving top quality spirits, bottle of wine, and food available was fantastic. We loved everything about this hotel, the only downside was the hard selling of their timeshare holidays (not sure if they still do this since we were there in 2012) but it was an experience we didnt enjoy...so beware.

Room Tip: The right of the hotel are quieter rooms as they are not situated over the activity pool.

After spending the last 6 days at the Hyatt I don't want to leave. The facility is immaculate the staff friendly and the food was delicious.
The turn down service was amazing the last 2 nights we came into our room to rose petals on the bed.

My only problems with the stay are as followed
1. The wifi in the rooms is spotty and can be frustrating at times
2. The time share is a joke you sign up for 90 minutes including breakfast we spent over 3 hours and eventually had to literally get up and leave because of pushy sales
3 the first 2 nights of our stay the AC never was lower the 27c that is roughly 80F so it was pretty warm
A special shout out to Escobar Yunuen for making our honeymoon unforgettable

Spent a week here shortly before it became the Hyatt (formerly the Royal) and I had a GREAT experience! I've stayed in numerous "all inclusive's" over the years in every Caribbean country and this is the only one that offered the amenities you would find in a major Canadian or US hotel. Everything about the place was class. I will stay here on my next Mexico visit.

We have just arrived back from our honeymoon at the hyatt zilara and I cannot describe how amazing it was!! We were treated like royalty from start to finish, you litrally do not have to lift a finger for your whole visit! There's so much to do at the hotel you would never have to leave really, from all the restaurants to the pools, whirlpools, jacuzzis dotted all over the place, massage huts, beds on the beach, water sports, volleyball , swim up bar, spa (amazing) ,gym and a 24 hour sports bar that has pool tables, table tennis, chess, giant Jenga! My favourite part has got to be the turn down service, whilst you are eating at one of the many restaurants there is someone preparing your room for your return with romantic aroma, bath salts , low lighting with candles and bed made! We had one minor complaint about some noisy guests which was resolved very quickly by Marcelo the lovely concierge manager. All the staff are so nice and friendly , a few that stood out for us were guadalupe who was ready and waiting for us by our sun beds every morning with cold water! And also David who we met at the cofee shop yesterday who kindly suggested a drink he could make us to cool us down as we were sooo hot waiting for our coach! and hector who always seemed to go that extra mile for us!! We hope one day we can go back to this amazing hotel and experience it all over again!

i was there before it changes name to hyatt zilara...for me this is the best hotel which i ever visited,and I visited a lot....service are great,rooms beautifull,best food,nice beach,great location....simply the best....only minibar with full bottle of tequilla,whisky,votka nad rum....

Have just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday in this gorgeous hotel.
Everything about this resort was exceptional in every way...
We upgraded to a corner suite. .well worth the upgrade for the extra special features which make your holiday.
Saying that, every suite in the resort are beautiful with sea views and luxury amenities.
The mexican football association were holding a conference at our hotel for part of our second week..and all guests were treated exactly the same as they were..no special treatment was given to them at all...which says it all really.
Every member of staff were sooooo happy and made us feel really special for our entire holiday...nothing was too much trouble for them..Each of them always going the extra mile....brilliant!
I would return in a moment, and would recommend everyone to go there 100%

I went to this resort when it was known as The Royal (a year ago). So if things have changed along with the name, I don’t know about them.
My husband and I came to The Royal for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. Right from the start we were treated great, greeted with champagne and good service. They arranged roses on the bed and had a “congratulations” cake waiting for us. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. The only bad thing about our entire trip was that our AC was broken. They would fix it, it would work, then break. It wasn’t until the last night (when someone checked in next door) that it started working full time.
But AC aside, we have a wonderful stay. The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly. I loved the swim up bar and the pool-side service was lovely. We spent most of our time at the pool but the beach-side chairs were nice too. I will say people claimed the beds really early, but we usually got pool chairs under a canopy without a problem (my husband prefers to sit in the shade). Personally, I enjoyed the coffee shop a lot. It was nice to get a blended coffee drink and a cookie before going out for the day.
We did an algae wrap spa treatment and both agreed it was one of our favorite things. I have never felt more pampered.
Even with a busted AC, I can’t say enough good things about this place. We both can’t wait to go back. I even sent my parents there and they had an equally as wonderful time.
