From the entrance one can admire the hand carved wooden pillars that elude to the crustacean that has come to be the favorite of its world-wide customers: the lobster.

My girlfriend and I were sick of the typical street Mexican food style restaurants around Cancun so we decided to do something a little more up-scale. Our concierge at the hotel was able to call and make us a reservation (the place was pretty empty at the time so probably was unnecessary except he wanted commission which was fine). Was a 150 peso cab ride from the InterContinental El Presidente. We were seated promptly outside with the lagoon view at sunset. great ambiance and environment to relax! The service was very attentive and available. We were given complimentary variety of bread (which were out of this world!) and fish empanadas (also very delicious). We ordered a bottle of white wine (local Mexican, simple and good) and green Lobster ceviche (small portion but tasty and not spicy as they advertised). Then came the main course of the seafood platter for 2 off the special menu which included 2 of each lightly fried soft shell crab, grilled fish, grilled lobster, shrimp, baked oyster. Everything was delicious although a little heavy on the butter. We were hoping to have a glimpse of the resident crocodile and we were very lucky that he came for a visit! it was amazing to see a creature that size up close. They also gave us complimentary chocolate cake as we were celebrating a special occasion. Our total bill was $140 which would have been much more in NYC where we are from!

Saturday was our last day in Cancun and we saved our visit to Lorenzillo's for our last meal before heading to the airport. Our party of 9 showed up at 12pm for lunch. Unfortunately, we didn't check ahead of time and the restaurant does not open until 1pm! Being pressed for time to get to the airport, we spoke to the manager, Marco. He is the BEST!! He allowed us to sit, enjoy the view and order drinks in the bar area. They got a table ready for us 15 min before the place opened and took care of us. The food and service were amazing. Do try the CRAB CAKES!!! We got to the airport in time, happy and FULL!!! Thank you Marco!!!

We were lucky to be recommended this restaurant on our first trip to Cancun back in 2003 and have dined here every trip to Cancun since. We have also dined in Lorenzillo’s in Cabo San Lucas.

If you like lobster you will love this place. Extensive lobster menu and it’s great fun to be able to pick your lobster from the tank.

The dining area is fabulous. If the night isn’t too humid I recommend dining outside as the setting is very romantic, and the tables over the lagoon have great views. On one occasion we had a surprise visitor - a crocodile swam over to the restaurant and was a great photo op (from the safety of the restaurant deck of course!)

Lorenzillo’s is an expensive restaurant, but if you fancy a special night out with good seafood and great views this is a great spot.

Thank Avdav

Food was outstanding from appetizer to desert. Best lobster i have had. Alfredo was fabulous. A little pricey but well worth it.

I'm stunned that Lorenzillo's is rated the 35th best restaurant in Cancun??? That's a joke. We went there three times over a week long stay in Cancun because the food and service were so good. Everything we had was fresh...from the lobsters plucked right from the tank to the bread, which is baked daily in a tiny bakery on the dock next to the main restaurant. Plus, there is a resident 12-foot Crocodile that encircles the restaurant located out on the lagoon that is beyond impressive. It's upscale dining and expensive but well worth the cost. Go there! You will not be disappointed!
