We stayed at Residencias Reef for a Christmas vacation. Since each condo is individually owned, I can only speak specifically to our unit, which was very well appointed. We had a one bedroom unit, which found to be quite spacious. Our family of four was able to sleep in the bedroom (with provided air mattress) which was nice not having to use a sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom was huge, and we had a nice view off our patio.
The grounds are meticulous, and the pool area is lovely, though it was too cold for us to use it that time of year. We knew from reviews and research that the beach directly in front of the condos was not a good swimming beach, so we weren't surprised. We did walk down the beach a couple of times to enjoy the beach clubs there, but ultimately, we enjoyed hopping in the car and trying out the beaches all across the island.
The location of the condo may be far away from downtown for some. We didn't mind it, even though we did drive to town at least once per day. It was about 15 minutes, but we still enjoyed the quiet atmosphre of the reef.
Ultimately, this is a good location for people who want a relaxing trip, but probably not for people who want to be right in the action.
