Stayed a week from march 30th -April 6th. I recommend you ask for a low-level room if you want to sleep. The rooftops are made of stray (real stray) and there are alot of birds that start there charm around 4 o'clock in the morning. The food was bad (we lost weight during that week). The rooms are very small. However, the rooms are kept very clean. This is a family vacation hotel (very noisy). There is a big water game pool (with horns announcing every water splash- every 15 minutes). I will be back in Cozumel to dive. It is one of the most beautiful places to dive but we will never go back to this hotel. What a waist of our money.

Dear digiQuebecCity
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I appreciate your feedback and have shared your comments with the team.

I apologize that the rooms did not meet your expectation. We offer three different types of rooms: the Superior (standard room), Superior Premium, (the same size as the standard rooms, but located near the ocean and pools) and Suites, which are bigger rooms and have living rooms, Jacuzzis and bedrooms with partial and full ocean views.
I hope you understand that the resort is geared towards families. However, we understand that couples need privacy and quiet accommodations, which we ensure by offering an adult pool, the quiet pool and in the rooms surrounding these areas.
I am sorry to hear about your experience with the food. I will be reaching out to you directly through Trip Advisor to discuss your feedback about the food in more detail.
Sincerely
Carolina Interian

We have been to this Resort twice and have had a great time on both occasions -- and almost certainly will be going back again! The beach is awesome and the snorkelling/diving opportunities in the area are some of the best in the world. A dive shop is right on the Resort to be able to book dives and snorkelling excursions. The Resort staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and fun. The kids' waterpark is just amazing and we kept thinking all the time how much our grandkids would enjoy this feature. The Resort is a nice size and all areas of the Resort are within comfortable walking distances. There was great variety in the food at all meals but the lunch buffet could often get very crowded and sometimes there were 10-15 minute wait times for a table; so think the main buffet should also be open at lunch. The Island is very friendly and we felt very safe renting a jeep and driving around the island on our own. If you are looking for a smaller, quiter and relaxing Resort -- Allegro Cozumel is the place to go!!

Room Tip: None of the rooms are far from any of the Resort amenities -- so they are all nice!! The ones that a...

My daughters and I truly enjoyed our week at the Allegro Cozumel. The pro dive shop was top rate with some fabulous instructors. The food though not gourmet, except at the Mediterrean and Oriental restaurants, was was plentiful and frequently available. The bartenders were the best I have ever met at an all inclusive resort. There were mimosas available for breakfast and the wine was very good. If there was a problem, you just mentioned it to one of the managers and they were quick to correct the problem. The resort was quite beautiful and kept very clean. The only time we had problems with lines was on Monday afternoon when we were invaded by crowds from the cruise ships. Some of the woman working the front desk and gift shop were less than helpful but the manager was great. The food and beverage manager was great as well. I was disappointed that there was no teen club but the kids were able to meet others just by hanging around the pool. Overall an excellent all-inclusive resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the 600 series near the beach. You don't need a fridge since fresh food and b...

I have been vacationing at Allegro for almost 10 years, my husband longer. Each visit I am awed by the clear blue water and fabulous beaches. This year, we introduced my husband's brother and his wife to Allegro. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Noticeable improvements to accommodations and dining experiences have been made as well as children areas to encourage the family vacation. The staff is warm and welcoming. You never fail to make a new friend. Allegro is just what you need to relax and be pampered. I can't wait until next year!

Stayed a week at Allegro. Lots of great beach volleyball, soccer for our 14 year old, decent meals, nice beach and pools. Lunch could be improved as many times the buffet needed replenishing which was slow to non-existent.

Bottom floor room was fine, just very little room to store your things and very thin walls. You could hear conversations from the next room. Hard beds, dated decor but very clean & who goes to Cozumel to stay in the room anyway?

We stayed there 5 years ago & it was good to see they had added an adults pool and a big water park and playground area for toddlers through 10 year olds. This doesn't get much mention but families who had little ones there loved it.

Snorkeling off the beach there is possible but nothing to see. Better snorkeling off the beach at the North end hotels.

Stayed at the resort from March 30-April 6 and had real nice time. We had a lower level room in the 3500 building; very glad I had read the advice on staying away from the upper level rooms. Peeked into the unoccupied room above us and the white bedspreads were literally covered in debris that had been falling from the thatched roofs!
Our room was fine but certainly dated; older furnishings and decor, tired bathroom, minimal outlets, etc. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. The people in the room next door had an infant, plus dad snored, so we were woken up a few times each night. A/C worked well but sounded like a loud bathroom fan, which actually helped drown out other noises during the night. Outdoor hammock was a great place to relax while waitng for my girlfriend to get ready.
Beds were the hardest that I have ever encountered in 8 trips to Mexico, but housekeeping was happy to add a matress pad after the first night. All in all we slept decent but not really comfortable. Our maid kept the room clean and was just so nice! We tipped her daily and she always made cute towel animals and left us 4-5 bottles of water every day. The staff was very accomodating; if you wanted something you just had to ask.
The wait for drinks at the bars was minimal and they would make you pretty much anything you asked for. They always has a few drink-of-the-day specials for us to try. I was a bit concerned about the food after reading some of the reviews but it turned out to be pretty decent. Breakfast was good with great french toast, omelets, fruit, yogurt, and mexican specialties. The juices seemed to be watered down and not as good as I had experienced at other all-inclusives.
Lunch and dinner buffets were ok but repetitive. We broke it up by venturing into town for a few meals. The mexican sit down restraunt was good also although the wine was kind of brutal.
The shows in the theater were fun to watch although most of the guests seemed to stay away. Fire show on the beach was fun to see!
Beach was great for relaxing and swimming, not much for snorkeling. We took a cab down to the Money bar and snorked one day and it was great, especially if you venture out about 75 yards from shore into 40' of water. Say huge corals, stingrays, turtles and lots of fish. Plus you can try more authentic mexican food at their beach restraunt.
Had a great trip but probably will stay at another resort next time, As I get older I just need a few more comforts than the Allegro provides, but we still had fun on this trip!

Room Tip: Upper rooms have thatched roofs that are quaint, but make the room dirty and do little to block out...

We get there on march 31st 2012. As per the review we decided to pay extra to get a better room however we were affraid to be on top level due to the comment about the rain so we end up having a room in the 5000 which is for the private club time share. We were so excited we wait bit long for the room but doesnt matter cz we were gone have a great upgrade... Finally we arrive at the room and it was at first level with a bar however it wasn't clean and old. They right away try to clean as much as they can but cz it was old still looks dirty. I ask a neighbor to check our room if it was the same for them and it wasn't so the day after we complain! I don't know why maybe cz we were a sweet polite couple but we end up in the most beautiful suite on top floor of the resort 6721 the best view of the resort with a jacuzzi in the room a king size bed a double bathroom and double balcon. This room really made a huge impact on our trip! Alberto was really taking care of us! We have a great supper free in the special restaurant by the beach! He also help a lot he work very hard and we really appreciate his work . About this resort : I would say it is not to do party no night life really! If u have kids they will have a great moment there is a aqua pirate park and they do a lot of activities for kids! For the foods if you pay extra you can have great lobster by the beach or at the outside Mexican restaurant! If ur difficult stay away cz we always find good thing but we are not fuzzy : ceviche, fish, salsa tomato salad, rosbeef, omelette was great! We stay away fm pizza and hamburger but if u like that u will be serve! Also suggest to bring bottle of wine in resto if u like good wine cz u can't buy any on the resort and the wine serve is not good! For the beach part I didn't like the water cz I like when I can see my feet it wasn't clear but there was always towel or chair available and it is big! For diving it's a great place cz it is well organize and the boat come get you right there...even if the weather forecast was announce rain and thunder it was nice all week! We have great time cz we enjoy our suite, weather and the service!
