Cozumel Palace is a beautiful clean resort, but if you're looking for time to spend at the beach, this is not a resort for you. The pool is beautiful and over looks the bay, but there is no shoreline. This is not a huge resort and is small and cozy. At the time even though it is a small resort, it never seemed crowded, of course at the breakfast and dinner areas were quite busy, but always found seating. It is not a adult only resort, so they are families. Cozumel is an island of the Mexican Yucatan Pennisula, so you did have to take a ferry ride over which is about 40 minutes away. Be prepared it is pretty bouncy ride if you tend to get seasick. The ferry is indoors and air-conditioned.

Our room was exactly like the pictures. We stayed in a king Junior Suite in room 523. The best part is this resort includes free calls to the US & Canada and wireless internet in your room, also free of charge. Most other resorts definitely charge for long distance and internet. We had a "true" panoramic ocean view. There was a hammock on the balcony. The bathroom was in beautiful marble and clean. Also, a wonderful treat is the DOUBLE jacuzzi right in your room. You can easily fit to large adults. The siting area and jacuzzi is a step down from where the bed. Oh did I mention the wonderful plush robe and slippers...

There is free 24-hour room service, which is marvelous. It is not required, but we would tip when they deliver to our room like $1 or $2 dollars. The fresh fruit is awesome! The chocolate mousse cake is to die for. The grilled steak and fish is fabulous. We've been on 4 all-inclusive resorts and this resort by far has the best food. We usually did the buffet for breakfast and dinner and grab at the pool area. Each night they have a buffet style cook out grill by the pool with entertainment. I did take out from the sushi restaurant and it was pretty good. Room service and dinning attendants were courteous and prompt. Always had a smile.

Another treat was the free snorkeling tour. They take you about 15-20 mins out into the ocean to snorkel. We saw a HUGE school of fish. It was our first time and we enjoyed ourselves. We did hop over to the Playacar Palace resort which is a ferry ride over and get massages at the spa. This resort is HUGE and it is then you realize how small Cozumel Palace is. Across the street from the resort is a "cozumel" type of Walmart where you can find groceries, personal items, electronics, ect. We had to go because Spirit Air lost BOTH of our suitcases and didn't get until the next day. We had nothing but what we had on. Learned my our lesson and will ALWAYS bring change of clothes and personal items in carry on! We actually flew into Cancun and took a transfer over to the Playa del Carmen to take the ferry to cozumel. You can purchase them directly on the Palace Resort website. Plane trip was too expensive to fly directly to Cozumel. Saved about $450 flying into Cancun.

Cozumel Palace is a wonderful resort with fabulous rooms and good food. Once again if you love the beach scene, this resort is not for you. We went for 5days/4nights to really just relax and rest, so we did not do a lot of shopping or excurisons. We had a great time and would definitely return and recommend to our family and friends. Please see our pics to see for your self.

We just returned from a week long stay at the Cozumel Palace. Overall I would have to say the resort was great. The service was excellent but in the restaurants it took several minutes (up to ten) before our server madea showing at the table. Service in the breakfast buffet, lobby bar, and pool area were excellent. I would rate the food as above average but certainly nothing to rave about. My wife and I felt 4 days at Cozumel Palace would have been better than the week we spent there. You can only spend so much time sitting by the pool and eating. If you are looking for any kind of night life, there is none at Cozumel Palace. The lobby bar consists of about 8 people by 10:30 p.m. and all of the liquor is locked up tight by midnight. One night we ended up walking across the steet to a local watering hole and chatting with the Cozumel locals for several hours. Great fun! The entertainment was a little cheesy with the exception of the fire/drum show which was quite entertaining. We did a snorkeling excrsion and swam with the dolphins. Those two excursions cost us $500.00 but it was either thar or sit around at the pool for another day plus. The entire resort is done in marble and can be very slippery when wet and also tends to be a little noisy. The rooms are very clean and well maintained and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a nice place to sit back and relax with no worries then Cozumel Palace is for you. There is no beach at Cozumel Palace but there is a sand area next to the pool which is not used much. The terrain in that location does not allow for a sand beach. If you want a vacation with some adventure and excitement and a little night time fun you'd better look elsewhere.

My husband and I traveled to Cozumel in February. I have to say that after a glorious vacation at Dreams Cancun the year before, we found Cozumel to be rather boring. The hotel is very nice, our room was large and roomy and the staff incredible but the island itself just wasn't that exciting. Cozumel itself is full of tourist trap expensive jewelry stores and shops so you really have to get off the beaten path to find reasonable priced, handmade items as gifts.

The food was ok but not the best we've had at an all-inclusive. Once again, the staff were wonderful and catered to all needs, even bringing out some tasty ribs at a special request for lunch.

The pool is rather small as is the resort itself but the man made beaches are nice if you just want to bask in the sun or under the many beach umbrellas. Service at the pool was awesome.......never had an empty glass of whatever it was we were drinking.

The spa was wonderful and I did have the best massage ever there and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Tours from the hotel.....if the tour to the Tulum ruins is an example of the other tours they offer, find another tour company and make sure you'll be spending quality time at the ruins and not at native villages or gift shops or even restaurants. We were so excited to go to the Tulum ruins but due to stopping at so many other places, our time spent at the ruins in the late afternoon amounted to less than an hour. Yes we did fill out a comment card about how disappointed we were as were many of the other passengers on the bus. The tour guides were great though and very informative and funny.

If you're looking for just a lazy time, then Coz Palace is the place to go. If we ever go back to Mexico though, it'll be back to Dreams Cancun.

My wife and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Cozumel Palace. Let me begin this review by saying that my wife and I really enjoy traveling and we've stayed at many fine resorts over the years such as the Bellagio in Vegas, the Princeville in Kauai etc. The Cozumel Palace is an all inclusive resort and I was a bit skeptical about staying at an all inclusive due to several so so experiences in the past. However, our experience at the Cozumel Palace was fantastic. The staff was extremely friendly and practically everyone you encounter will smile and say hello to you, from the guy washing the floors to the manager at the front desk.

If you are a foodie or enjoy Mexican food, like I do, then you will love this place!
The food was really excellent. Every meal we had at the resort was delicious and I do mean every meal. Our past experience with the food at an all inclusive resort hasn't necessarily been a bad one but it had never been anything to write home about. The Cozumel Palace really changed our minds about that though, I can't say it enough here, the food was really really good! We had actually planned on visiting a few of our favorite restaurants on the island but decided that there was no need to leave the resort because the food was so top notch. As you would expect, there were several bars through out the resort including a swim up bar at the pool. This resort's bars had top shelf liquor and the drinks were tasty and plentiful.

The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice and relaxing. The main entrance opens to a beautiful lobby that overlooks the infinity pool with the ocean behind it, very beautiful. Out at the pool there are tons of chairs for catching sun or just lounging under a palapa and watching the ocean waves roll in. As you sit by the pool there are waiters that circle around to get you drinks or food or anything that you might need. Once you sit down, you really don't ever have to get up because the staff is so attentive to your needs. The resort has no beach (only a few small man made beaches) but honestly, we didn't miss the beach at all. The reason is because the resort has some amazing snorkeling just steps from the pool. There are several docks with ladders that go right into the ocean where you can get in and enjoy snorkeling all day. We saw tons of fish and the water was crystal clear. Other than Hawaii, we've never experienced a snorkeling experience as good as this that was so close to the resort. Usually, to get to see some good marine life and have good visability you need to take a boat out away from the shoreline but that is not the case here. If you love snorkeling like we do, this is a great place to stay.

The only drawbacks to the resort would be the room itself. We stayed in a standard room which was very small. The room was comfortable though and we enjoyed the bed, liquor cabinet, nice bathroom and all the other standard things were there that you would expect, but some extra wiggle room would have been nice. There were suites available but we decided that we'd just stick the standard room out and it proved to be just fine for the 2 of us. Also, all rooms have 24 hour room service free of charge which was really nice. One thing that I need to mention is that when you're in your room the noise level from the hallway is a bit loud. The construction and acoustics of the building and hallway itself carry noise and voices very easily. When someone walked down the hallway by our door we could clearly hear the sound of their voices in our room. We noticed that the door to our room had a bit of light coming through it in places so if the resort would do a better job of sealing the doors it might help some. Fortunately, both my wife and I are very sound sleepers so we were never awakened by noise but if you are a light sleeper or a non drinker :) then you might have some trouble getting to sleep at night.

One last thing I need to mention is that if you stay at a Palace resort then you have access to other Palace resorts in the area. There is a Palace resort in Playa del Carmen, which is only a short 30 min ferry ride away from Cozumel, so my wife and I decided to take a day and go experience that resort. We were very sorry we did. The Playa del Carmen Palace seems like it's not even owned by the same people. The staff over there was snotty and not helpful at all. We ate 2 meals while we were there(breakfast and lunch), and both were disappointing. The food was cold and bland which was much more reminiscent of our past experiences with all inclusive resorts. The odd thing is that the Playa del Carmen Palace was much more expensive than the Cozumel Palace. If you're trying to decide between these 2 resorts, definitely go with the Cozumel Palace over the Playa.

To sum it all up: You'll love this place if you enjoy food or are a foodie, enjoy snorkeling, appreciate good friendly service and pool lounging. The negatives about the resort are the small rooms and noisy hallways.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week in Cozumel. Can't say enough about the snorkeling and how wonderful Cozumel is. We stayed at the Cozumel Palace. The hotel was wonderful! As reported in other reviews, we were delighted that the food was way better than some of the other all-inclusives we have stayed at. I had read the reviews mentioning that the noise was a big problem - not our experience at all! We staying in room 309 and found the room to be very clean and very quiet. We found the service to be excellent. This resort is small compared to some of the ones we've stayed at on the mainland (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Puerto Aventuras). My only main complaint is that I really missed having a beach at the hotel. We took a trip to the East side of the Island so I got my fix!

My husband and I had a great time in Cozumel Palace. The room was beautiful. The food was excellent. The staff was wonderful especially FIJI. We had a great time. I cannot say enough about Cozumel Palace. Everything was in walking distance store wise. WE plan on making this a place we go to every 2 years if not every year. For those of you that stated there is not a beach. YOu don't need one believe me. You won't miss it. And for those of you that have ever been to Punta Cana, There is no comparison.

This was our 2nd trip to Cozumel Palace in 2 years. It's a fabulous place to stay - service is up to "Disney World" standards, rooms are spacious and clean, (we stayed in a Junior Suite, which has 2 double beds, jacuzzi, and ocean-front balcony), and food is excellent. Waiters and waitresses were very attentive without being intrusive, including outside around the pool - they frequently came by offering to bring you a drink (everything's included - no extra charges). One very nice touch is free internet AND free, unlimited phone calls from your room to the US. It was very nice to be able to keep in touch with family at home. We went diving 5 days, using Dive with Martin, whom I highly recommend. They picked us up right from the pier at the hotel every morning.

My only warning would be this - don't bother taking the "tour" of the other Palace resorts on the Yucatan peninsula (Playacar Palace and Aventura Spa Palace.) We did this and basically wasted a day of vacation. They said it wasn't a time share presentation, but it basically was. Those other 2 resorts are no where near as nice as Coz Palace in our opinion (and apparently others had the same opinion - both were basically empty.) Wife and daughter enjoyed the free spa treatments at Aventura, but it wasn't worth the loss of a vacation day.
