“Very relaxing stay, with a few minor snags”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2014

We were at Hotel B for 4 nights, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Overall, it was a lovely hotel. We liked the room, loved the view from the balcony, thoroughly enjoyed all the local art (we even brought something home), and the hot tub jutting into the sea is great. I love the little cove for snorkeling, but my husband was a bit freaked out by all the sea urchins. You can head straight through the cove or from the hot tub patio right into deeper water, as well.

The breakfasts were ok. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. The coffee wasn't the best, and the service tended to be slow - I usually had to flag a waiter to get my coffee refilled, though my husband never had that issue when we ate separately. We had dinner at the hotel one night, and dessert another night, and both were delicious. I would definitely recommend trying the dinner.

It's a short taxi ride into town. You might be able to walk, but we never had the time to try it.

And now, the minor snags. Our phone didn't work, which meant that any time we needed anything, we had to go down to the lobby. Normally not an issue, but we did order room service one night, and we also had some laundry that we needed to notify the front desk about. We told them a few times that the phone didn't work, they always said someone would take care of it, and it never happened. If a non-working phone is the worst thing that happens on my vacation, though, I consider it a pretty good vacation.

We had some trouble getting our laundry collected, but in the end it was washed and returned a day early, so I would consider that in their favor. Laundry was expensive, so if you can avoid having it done by the hotel, do so. It was worth it to us to not spend our trip doing housework, but I didn't enjoy doing the math filling out the form...

This review is starting to sound more negative than positive, but overall, we really loved the Hotel B, and can't wait to go back. I got a great deal going through the Hotel B website, much lower than the walk in price and the prices I found on other travel sites. It was an excellent value at the price I paid. Perhaps not so much at the $200/night the front desk was advertising.

Room Tip: Ocean view deluxe is definitely worth the upgrade. Beautiful view from the bed.

We just got back from another 9 days in Cozumel. We stayed at the boutique style hotel called Hotel B. We love this hotel. It's small and has all the amenities we need to enjoy our stay. Air Conditioning was great and quiet. We had many television stations and enough in English to keep us content. The location and view of the ocean is spectacular. The food is very nice. The staff is excellent. They have Francisco (Paco) who plays music on Friday and he's great. You'll love this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the bottom are convenient but the view from the upper floors is unobstructed and a great tr...

This hotel has nice service, but the manager does not understand that people who Who are on vacation do not want to listen to trance music all the time!! Me and my husband have complained numerous times and other people hate it too, but it does not change. We want peace and quiet... We were awakened this Sunday am at 8:30 to this music.. So forget about having your window open to the ocean Breeze...all you hear is the electronic music blaring. I think the manager needs to stay here to be tortured by this day and night. She told us people Want it, but she should do a survey to really see what her customers want. I don't think we will be back to stay.too bad because it is a lovely setting.

Room Tip: Good beds, lousy Wi-Fi you can't get in your room. Beautiful setting with ocean view ruined by th...

Thank you very much for your comment, we are always open to listen the comment from our guest in order to improve our service. We are making a new play list with relaxing music, we made an adjustment in the music during your stay and we are worried that you did not like it, however we know that the rest of our service were as your expectations like the place and decoration. We would like to have the opportunity for welcome you will back with another music.

Second stay at this hotel. Great snorkeling off the dock. Very clean. Rooms are rather Spartan but have all the amenities necessary. WiFi in lobby. Better stay during the off season but never felt crowded in pool or out door areas. Quiet rooms even on new years with hotel sponsored party going on.

We fell in love with Hotel B over New Year's eve weekend. I'll admit, there are a few things that some might say make this a four rather than a five, but our overall experience was so nice I'd prefer to round up. Christian, the front desk manager, was outstanding. He communicated with me throughout our reservation, making sure that we had rooms that could accommodate my husband, who has a disability. We had reserved two rooms and when one of the rooms' AC broke down just before our arrival, Christian came in on his day off to ensure that we had another room paid for at the next door hotel, were comfortable getting over there and checked in, and then had our room ready to go the next day back at Hotel B. The view and location simply can't be beat. The pool and ocean area are outstanding. While there is no actual sand beach as this is on the north side of the island where it is rock, they have created a beautiful beachfront area that is comfortable, has a variety of options for sun and shade, and is incredibly relaxing.

I did yoga two of the four days we were there and loved both instructors. You really can't beat starting your morning on the edge of the ocean with a nice yoga flow. We also did the snorkeling and paddle boards. Again, can't say enough about how easily accessible and nice both activities were. There is a great little cove that allows you to get easily into the ocean - just be careful of the sea urchins! the staff was very helpful in getting us in and out of the water with our paddle boards and making sure we didn't step on any urchins or get cut on rock. We were also lucky enough to be there when one of the locals brought her slack line along to set up for New Year's Eve day fun and taught the kids how to slack line. Not a regular activity they have, but it was a lot of fun for them to learn. They also partner with Scuba Du for scuba diving and we took a wonderful diving trip with them. If you are looking for something with lots of activities particularly for smaller children, you may want to make sure what they offer is right for what your kids enjoy. We did see families with younger kids and were able to make a tour reservation with a local company for one of our days as well with stuff to do.

The staff was outstanding and friendly. The waitstaff was wonderful and worked very hard to make sure we had what we needed. We enjoyed the food but it was nice to get out into the town for some variety. The food and drinks were a tad expensive, so it would have been nice to have a mini fridge or something in the room to keep waters/beverages so we weren't always ordering from the hotel. That was more of a planning thing on our end. The rooms themselves were very clean and the housekeeping staff did a wonderful job.

Overall, this was a beautiful and outstanding experience and we would love to get back there next time we were in Cozumel.
