We were at Hotel B for 4 nights, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Overall, it was a lovely hotel. We liked the room, loved the view from the balcony, thoroughly enjoyed all the local art (we even brought something home), and the hot tub jutting into the sea is great. I love the little cove for snorkeling, but my husband was a bit freaked out by all the sea urchins. You can head straight through the cove or from the hot tub patio right into deeper water, as well.
The breakfasts were ok. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. The coffee wasn't the best, and the service tended to be slow - I usually had to flag a waiter to get my coffee refilled, though my husband never had that issue when we ate separately. We had dinner at the hotel one night, and dessert another night, and both were delicious. I would definitely recommend trying the dinner.
It's a short taxi ride into town. You might be able to walk, but we never had the time to try it.
And now, the minor snags. Our phone didn't work, which meant that any time we needed anything, we had to go down to the lobby. Normally not an issue, but we did order room service one night, and we also had some laundry that we needed to notify the front desk about. We told them a few times that the phone didn't work, they always said someone would take care of it, and it never happened. If a non-working phone is the worst thing that happens on my vacation, though, I consider it a pretty good vacation.
We had some trouble getting our laundry collected, but in the end it was washed and returned a day early, so I would consider that in their favor. Laundry was expensive, so if you can avoid having it done by the hotel, do so. It was worth it to us to not spend our trip doing housework, but I didn't enjoy doing the math filling out the form...
This review is starting to sound more negative than positive, but overall, we really loved the Hotel B, and can't wait to go back. I got a great deal going through the Hotel B website, much lower than the walk in price and the prices I found on other travel sites. It was an excellent value at the price I paid. Perhaps not so much at the $200/night the front desk was advertising.
