Hotel Flamingo was way beyond our expectations! Just before booking our stay, I saw a groupon deal for Hotel Flamingo. I contacted the hotel and they gave me the groupon deal without having me buy the groupon. (win-win for us both!) We were shocked by the beautiful bar and furniture in the lobby, and uber-impressed with Ivan, the night concierge. We showed up to check in at 5 pm. We asked him if he might be able to find us a night dive opportunity that night to kick start our vacation, and he warned us it was a little late, but he'd try. And try he did! 10 minutes later he called us in our room and said he'd found a place that could hook us up, but we'd have to leave in 5 minutes! It was totally worth the rush--the night dive was one of the best dives of our whole trip, and Ivan made it happen. He also helped us figure out the best place to park our moped, had great restaurant recommendations (even late into the night!), and makes a fantastic mojito! He's a fun and skillful bartender. And you know how sometimes you just think waiters/clerks/etc are only being nice for a tip?! Not the case with Ivan! He went out of his way to say hi while off duty while he was playing with his baby son in the zocalo while we were hurrying down the street on our way to the ferry.

We were so pleased with our time at the Hotel Flamingo--the service, the facilities, and the location far exceeded our expectations. We'd definitely recommend it to others visiting San Miguel.

Dan Komorosky (Casita de Maya) recommended I stay at the Flamingo - and it was excellent! Very quaint boutique type hotel - terrific bar and best margaritas in town!!! The queen bed room was removed from street bustle and quiet. Felt like home. Extremely attentive service - well located to the main strip. Definitely coming back!

...my husband and I made a quick get away for Cozumel to rest and relax before the holidays. We did not know it was the last day of 'Fiesta del San Miguel de Cozumel' what a treat on Sunday to hear the music, dancining, food off of Plaza del Sol (can't plan that kind of stuff)! The two choices on the island 'resort' on the shore or 'hotel' downtown. I call the Hotel Flamingo more in line of a nice Bed & Breakfast Hotel! Clean rooms, full breakfast (Carolina's Huevos Rancheros were excellant as were the coconut French Toast), Cable TV with all the U.S. Sports channels en Espanol and nice outdoor 2nd floor lounge to sit, read, check email on WiFi and then take a nap. Downtown was easy walking distance of two blocks, so walking to Plaza del Sol, ferry crossing to Playa del Carmen, shore to see the evening sunset was really nice. We met our host, Shirley & Tom, one morning when it was pouring rain from tropical storm Karen and they were so concerned that there was no sun out but the storm was gone by noon. Check out the great little food stand across the street and thanks to Adrian for the car rental lead at Isis Car Rental. They too, were so nice to rent a stick shift VW for the day and see the whole island. Will we stay there again.....YES! Gracias por todo!!

Room Tip: Street room was lovely but too much local traffic for us. Asked to be moved to the back, no problem they said....happy!

I came to Cozumel as a lone traveller to dive. Very clean and well presented rooms, very kind and friendly staff, good location! It is right next to an excellent dive shop and close to some good restaurants/bars! Ivan is a great guy and always good for a chat! Would recommend!
